Pupils Break Mathematics Record An astounding 42 pupils from Years 5 and 6 have been given awards in the National Primary Maths Challenge, which is organised by the Mathematical Association. This is a record number for New Hall, beating last year’s record of 38 awards. There were 20 Gold awards, 17 Silver awards and 9 Bronze awards, with six pupils in the running to attend the bonus round, for those with especially high scores, in February. This equates to half of the whole of Years 5 and 6, which is a fantastic achievement for the school. WINTER WEATHER

The 3rd place New Hall team, who were narrowly beaten by Herington House and St Anne’s Preparatory School, consisted of Lara Clark (6M), Douglas Gibb (5S), Holly Layzell (4D) and Benjamin Buckland (3RE). The 4th place team consisted of Ethan Doyle (6S), Hannah Greenland (5T), Niamh Wright (4R) and Roman Anstee (3RE).
