Foodies know the holiday season is a time when baked goods, and cookies in particular, take center stage. Celebrants can keep that in mind and prepare a batch of these "Iced Cinnamon Star Cookies" from Lines +Angles this holiday season.
Iced Cinnamon Star Cookies Makes 24 Servings
For the cookies:
2½ cups almond flour
1¼ cups powdered sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 large egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk, more if needed
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the cookies:
1. In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and

2. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
3. Preheat oven to 300 F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
4. On a powdered-sugar–dusted surface, roll the dough to 1/3 inch thickness, cut out 3-inch stars, and place them on the prepared sheet.
5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
For the icing:
1. Using a fork, combine the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Use a whisk to continue to stir the icing, adding more milk, in teaspoon increments if needed, to reach desired consistency.
2. Once cookies are cool, spoon on the icing and spread, or use a squeeze bottle or piping bag. Enjoy right away or let the icing set for 6–8 hours. TF25C367
