Time to Fall into

a Routine By Kate Porter

Fall into a routine this month with some healthy habits. Whether it be with your sleep schedule, meal planning, or workouts, there is always room to improve. Below are just a few tips to improve your daily routine to become a bit happier and healthier. `Wake Up and Smell the Roses Each

morning is a chance to start your day in a “Waking up fresh, positive way. Waking up around the same time every day is just one key to a around the same healthy sleep schedule. This one time every day adjustment will help boost energy levels is just one key to for the day as well as help you sleep better a healthy sleep at night. It is also proven to brighten your mood, increase alertness, boost your schedule.” immune system and your performance throughout the day. Next, make sure to take the time to enjoy a nice and healthy breakfast. It’s true, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and will fuel you and prepare you to conquer the day. Get ready and mentally prepare yourself for the day and also come to peace with the idea that everything may not always go exactly the way you planned.

Sit Up Straight and Take a Break Throughout your day make sure to acknowledge your posture. This will help increase energy levels, reduce headaches, and back or shoulder pain. Not to mention, good posture will help improve circulation and digestion. Take a break from your task and walk around. If you are unable to step away, try standing for a minute or two. It has been proven that in doing so, you can decrease your chances of heart disease or diabetes. You can even lose weight and improve your brain function!

Refuel, Relax, Reflect, Release When all is said and done, take the time to relax, refuel, reflect, and release. Refuel by making a healthy meal. Find healthy alternatives to your favorite foods and treat your body well. Find something that helps you relax, whether that be listening to music, taking a warm bath, meditation, or reading and allot a time for you to take part in this every night. Reflect on your day and release the negativity. Understand tomorrow is a new day and focus on the good.

Develop a routine to help gradually increase your physical and mental health. Don’t forget that you are in charge of your emotions, your wellness and your motivation. Treat yourself well, love yourself and appreciate all that you are capable of.•

Discipline

Yourself By Joshua Gorra

There will inevitably be days that we don’t want to give 100% effort. However, what if we only ask her self to improve by 1% on a daily basis and made it a habit? Do you think life would improve on a personal or professional level? None of us have every answer to “I made a decision everything, but I will share with you daily progress is monumental on the once my girls were grand scheme of things. born that I had I made a decision once my girls to find away on were born that I had to find away a daily basis to on a daily basis to become better, a better version of myself. No it’s become better, a not easy, we will all face better version of challenges and obstacles that we myself. No it’s not have to overcome. The only thing easy...” that is final is death, that’s the good news. Up until that day we have a choice to make, what will you choose?

Will you choose to maximize each day and be thankful for the process, while focusing on improving by 1% both personally and professionally? Translation, we cannot run a marathon unless we train our mind and our body to run 4 miles per day. We cannot make transformational changes overnight but we can change the direction we decide to embark.

Albert Einstein once said, “Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it … he who doesn’t … pays it.” Einstein isn’t the only smart person that understands the power of compound interest. Once we understand daily progress is the key to sustainable success, life changes in our favor.

Stay on track, I’m rooting for you! •

Nearly two decades ago in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, a dream to create a member-owned golf course community began to materialize with a master plan for an all-inclusive, amenity-rich facility for living and enjoying life to its fullest.

That dream has not only come to fruition but today, The Bay Club has established itself as one of the finest golf and recreation member-owned communities in New

England. The Bay Club is one of only two Silver

Sanctuary Golf Communities certified by Audubon

International in Massachusetts and prides itself in its practices of stewardship to the land.

In the quiet historic seaside town of Mattapoisett along the shores of Buzzards Bay not much has changed in the last 100 years. Historically, Mattapoisett was one of many coastal farming communities and its deep-water harbor supported shipbuilding with Bostonians maintaining summer residences along its waterfront. In the late 1800s, author Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. and his son Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. were summer visitors when the town was shifting from the shipping industry to tourism. Even today nearly half the residents of this small coastal town are seasonal.

The Bay Club master-planned community encompasses 625 acres (with 300 acres of adjacent conservation land). The Country Club and golf course occupy 200 acres, while the six residential villages of 180+ home-sites and 200 acres of deed-restricted open space provide a perfect balance for living. Its magnificent championship golf, designed by Brad Faxon and Bradley Booth, outstanding sports and fitness complex, unparalleled fine dining, and exceptional location on the Massachusetts’ South Coast have made it a top choice for living.

Dave Andrews, the Bay Club’s Director of Real Estate Sales and Membership has been there since the project started. Dave said,” The vision from the outset was to create something very special. As a cluster subdivision, the objective was to combine open space and privacy with outstanding country club amenities and each of the six residential villages was planned with this in mind. “Over the last year we have seen the largest surge in both interest and development at the property with 20 new homes under construction and 11 going through planning and

permitting. Single and family golf membership have also increased significantly with more families becoming part of the Bay Club Community.”

The Bay Club is defined by its members, cared for by top professionals, and is welcoming and interesting whatever your stage of life. Within the community, 94 percent of the 625 acres is “green” with hundreds of acres of open space that allows residents and golfers to enjoy the natural beauty of The Bay Club’s setting. Unique custom designed homes are individually constructed using sustainable resource management practices for long-term stewardship of the property, assuring optimum living for current residents and future homeowners as well.

Greg Yeomans, the Club’s General Manager and Director of Golf commented, “Our goal from the beginning was to create a community for our residents and members to enjoy life and golf. This year more than any other we have added new levels of safety, security, smart practices to our facility for both golf members and homeowners at the Club. Members and families embraced their membership at the Club enjoying the vast onsite activities and amenities”.

The Club’s Sports and Activities Center, opened in 2005, is a 10,000 square-foot facility with a year-round fitness center, aerobics room and locker rooms with steam. There are meeting rooms to accommodate the many cultural activities at the club with a demonstration kitchen where visiting celebrity chefs share their cooking skills. The Center also features four Har-Tru (Hydro) tennis courts plus two platform tennis courts, two pickleball courts, croquet, a junior-Olympic size swimming pool with zero-depth walk-in and much more. The club also offers a diverse year-round schedule of cultural activities and special events. Programs range from wine and food to books and music. Activities include trips to the symphony as well as local and regional musical and theatrical events. Members also enjoy shopping excursions, sporting events and summer camp for children.

The Bay Club by all measures is a community for living, offering a diverse eclectic variety and choices for individuals and families to enjoy the opportunity of a life well-lived and the celebrations and moments from which memories are made. •
