GOLDEN BOAT| 1

Jane Abrams Golden Boat opens just days before the two-year anniversary of the catastrophic flooding of the Roswell Museum, which sent eleven of Abrams’ major works to The Conservation Center in Chicago to address the damages caused by the invasive waters. Now, the paintings have all returned, fully restored and beautiful as ever. In celebration, Jane is presenting a group of her classic botanical works, including three works that have never been shown at New Concept Gallery. For over fifty years, Jane Abrams has lived and worked in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her travels to Mexico, Central America, Spain and Asia have introduced exotic subjects into her pulsing, colorful canvases. Over the course of her career Jane has exhibited her work extensively and has received recognition through numerous prestigious awards including a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and two senior National Endowment for the Arts grants. She has been honored with many artist-in-residencies and is Regents’ Professor Emerita from the University of New Mexico where she taught in the Department of Art from 1971 until 1993.
