New Concept Gallery welcomes you to “Reawakening,” a solo show featuring new works by abstract expressionist artist Kathleen Doyle Cook. This is a show of new paintings that reflect reawakening and new beginnings. These non-figurative images have their origins in hope and possibilities. They invite the viewer to search for meaning and connection. Inherent in all the works are sensuous surfaces created from the act of painting. These surfaces evolve from color, composition and the energy produced by layers of media and brushwork. The notion of "Quality Time Remaining" is ever present. The titles of the paintings have their roots in the book, Your True Home, by Thich Nhat Hanh.
