In the past, New Concept Gallery has primarily exhibited Julia Roberts’ exquisite hand-pulled prints: However, prints represent only one aspect of Julia’s artistic endeavors. In “Beyond the Boundaries,” we will be exploring the full spectrum of Roberts’ art: portraits and figure studies created during her years in Paris and London, distinctive monotypes reflecting both southwestern and Asian influences, pastels of imagined southwestern landscapes, and ceramics from her earliest days as an artist. Of course, examples of her signature hand-pulled prints will be here to enjoy, as well. This rare opportunity to experience the breadth and scope of Roberts’ art will allow visitors to the show to experience the common themes and see the clear lineage of her vision through the years.
Prior to settling in Santa Fe in 2006, Julia Roberts lived in Europe for 16 years, producing her art in various ateliers and master classes in Paris and London.
