Student visas
If you’re coming from outside the UK, you may need a student visa. Northeastern University London is licensed by the UK government to sponsor visas, and our dedicated team will guide you through the process.
Graduate student visa
Graduates of Northeastern University London are eligible to apply for the graduate route visa.
From 1 January 2027 successful graduate route visa applications will be granted permission to stay in the UK for 18 months to work, or look for work after finishing their studies.

Fees and funding
Home tuition fees
You’ll be classed as a home student for tuition fees if you are a UK/Irish national or permanent resident in the UK or Ireland for the last three years.
Postgraduate loans
For master’s study, students normally living in England – including EU, EEA, and Swiss passport holders – may be eligible for a UK Government Postgraduate Loan (PGL) of up to £12,858.

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, offering fully-funded scholarships to emerging leaders all over the world to pursue a master’s degree programme in the UK.

Sallie Mae
The University is recognised by Sallie Mae, the largest private student loan provider in the United States, making students eligible for its ‘Smart Option’ Student Loan. While we are happy to work with other lenders where possible, it’s important to confirm that they offer loans for study at overseas institutions. Sallie Mae is one of the few US lenders that does.
Master’s tuition fee payment plans
We offer the option to spread the cost of your tuition fees via an interest-free payment instalment plan, allowing you to pay in 10 equal instalments per year.
Alumni discount
Northeastern University alumni are entitled to a 20% fee discount.
Please note: scholarships cannot be combined with the alumni discount.
Acceptance deposits
An acceptance deposit of £500 for home and online students and £3,000 for international students is required. This deposit will be offset against your first term’s fees.
For international students who require a UK student visa to study at Northeastern University London, the deposit must be paid before we can initiate the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) process.
All information is correct at the time of publication, but may be subject to changes in UK government funding policy.

Entry requirements
Academic qualifications
We typically make offers to applicants who hold a UK undergraduate degree with at least a second-class (2:2) honours (or international equivalent). Each application is reviewed on an individual basis and assessed through the application form, reference, and personal statement.
Professional experience
We also welcome applications from mature students and professionals who may have been out of formal education but can demonstrate relevant professional experience or equivalent qualifications.
English language requirements
If English is not your first language, you will need to demonstrate proficiency in English in order to study with us.
