Lap Swim Hours Lap Pool Only

The Lap pool is 25 yards in length with three dedicated lanes for lap swim. Swimmers are to circle swim when there are more than 2 people per lane. Lanes arranged by speed and swimmers may be asked to move if in the inappropriate lane.

Big Truck Day

Beep, beep! Big Truck Day is rolling into town. Get up close with the trucks and equipment that keep our community clean, safe, and running every day. Mariachi Festival

The Mariachi Festival is a free summer celebration of Newark’s vibrant culture, featuring mariachi and ballet folklórico performances, delicious food, and engaging presentations for all ages. Bring your family and friends to enjoy an afternoon filled with music, dance, and community pride.

Inclusive Silent Splash Swim Night

Dive into fun with our Inclusive Silent Splash Swim Night! Designed for children with special needs, our program features a variety of engaging activities, including sensory stations, arts and crafts, and more. For safety, a parent or guardian must accompany each child in the water, with one adult per child. All participants are required to pay. Junior Lifeguard Camp

Interested in exploring what it takes to be a lifeguard and swim instructor? Graduates of this camp are encouraged to apply as a junior lifeguard volunteer for the Silliman Activity & Family Aquatic Center for up to 2 summers after completion of the camp. Included is a program shirt and lunch on Friday. Prerequisite: Must be able to continuously swim 50 yards of freestyle or breaststroke on the first day of camp.

The Theater Factory

Tennis with Gustavo Summer Camps

A summer program specializing in overall personal and fitness development of the youth with a focus on cardiovascular activity, coordination, and social bonding. A variety of exercises focus on utilizing games to motivate participation from the students. The classes will also include a technical focus specific for tennis. At the end of the month students should have a general understanding of how to play the sport.

Kendo “The Way of the Sword”

Beginner: This class is for those who have never practiced Kendo or need to brush up the fundamental movements of Kendo. The beginner class focuses on the basics and understanding the characteristics of kendo. A non-refundable material fee of $45 is due to the instructor on the first-class meeting.

Intermediate/Advanced: This class is for both those who have recently graduated from the beginner course and experienced kendo practitioners who are able to demonstrate proficiency in the fundamentals of KENDO. Instructor approval required prior to enrollment.

Self Defense Karate

Club VIP Volleyball

Since 1997 Club V.I.P. volleyball has provided reps and a progressive program designed to be taken multiple times to help breakdown skills to build up a solid foundation.

Level 1 Skills Training: This program is for players that need to develop consistency and control in their skills. Evaluations will be held at the end of each session.

Level 2 Skills Training:

Level 2 Team Training program is NOT FOR BEGINNERS, but for players that have instructor approval from Level 1 Programs. Designed to be taken multiple times to help players learn the roles of the positions on the court, and it focuses heavily on a pass, set, hit structure. Ride-On Tri-City Travel Training

Ride-On Tri-City Travel Training teaches seniors and persons with disabilities how to use public transit through travel training workshops, individualized training, transit outings and access to Senior Clipper cards. Classroom training and field outings on bus and BART are combined to teach participants how to plan trips, read transit schedules, use a Clipper Card to pay fares, transfer between buses and BART and travel on transit safely. The Newark Swim Lesson Program provides the highest quality of swim instruction available. We look at swim instruction as a necessary life skill and want to make swimming an enjoyable lifelong activity for you and your family. Lessons are tailored to age and skill within a level. Remember not to compare your child’s progress with other swimmers as everyone learns at a different pace. Children are tested on the first day of each session and placed into the appropriate class level. We hope that you enjoy your swimming experience with us and welcome any of your comments or suggestions. Swim lessons are 25 minutes long, except for Adult and Competitive swim classes, which are 45 minutes.

Refund/Make-Up Policy:

Activity Refund Processing: Please note that a minimum of five (5) working days’ notice is required before the session begins. Refund requests have a $15 processing fee. Transferring enrollment to another session also incurs a $15 fee.

Please note: There will be no make-up classes, credits, or refunds for any missed classes due to accidents, injuries, illnesses, or personal scheduling conflicts.

Aquatot Instructor to student ratio is 1:10.

6 month - 3 years

This interactive class is for parents and children ages 6 months - 3 years. The instructor will lead the parents through a variety of skills to teach their child. The parent is the primary instructor for their child and is required to be in the water with the child in a swimsuit. Children must wear a swim diaper under their suit. The class is designed to get the child acclimated in the water and to begin to work on entry-level swim readiness skills. Upon successful completion or age advancement the student will move into the preschool lesson program.

Preschool Instructor to student ratio is 1:4 to 1:6

3 - 5 years

This course offers swimming levels 1-3 for children ages 3-5 years. Children work on water exploration and adjustment skills such as bubble blowing, putting face in the water, and floating with support. They will progress to more advanced skills such as front crawl and back stroke. Instructor to student ratio is 1:4 to 1:6. Children who master level 3 or age up will move to a youth level class at the appropriate level to their ability.

Youth Instructor to student ratio is 1:6 to 1:8

6 - 12 years

This swim lesson program offers all swimming levels for children ages 6-12 years. Levels range from the first level in which students start to develop good attitudes and safe practices around the water all the way to Level 5 where students are swimming all the basic strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, Elementary backstroke, Sidestroke, and butterfly).

Adult/Teen Instructor to student ratio is 1:6.

This course is designed to help teens/adults ages 13 years and up meet their swim lesson needs from beginner to advance and focusing on the individual needs of each student. Classes are 45 minutes long.

Private and Skills Boost Private Instructor to student ratio is 1:1.

Private lessons are full session based 1 on 1 individualized instruction for ages 3 years and up looking for a more personalized approach. These lessons are focused on individual goals and progression. Skills boost private lessons are a single 25-minute private class that focuses on 1 to 2 skills for the student’s needs.

Competitive Swim Instructor to student ratio is 1:8.

This swim lessons is for ages 6-12 years who have successfully completed Youth Level 5 and is a pre-swim team program. This will be a 45-minute structured workout focusing on competitive swim training and correcting minor stroke form.
