Mon., December 2 for *Newark Residents Wed., December 4 for Non-Residents * Anyone with a Newark Home Address is a Newark Resident. Anyone living in another city is a Non-Resident. Proof of Newark home address is required for first time registrants (current driver’s license or utility bill.) PO Box addresses and businesses will not be accepted. Registration: Pre-registration is always required unless specified as a “drop-in-class”. We do not prorate for classes that have already begun. Refund Policy: Please notify us at least five (5) business days before the activity begins. A charge of $15 or 50% of the registration fee applies to refunds. Not all programs adhere to this refund policy. Aquatics Refund Policy: Please inquire at the Silliman Center front desk when registering. Special Needs: Persons with disabilities are welcome. If we can assist you in any way, please contact us. Late Pick-Up Fee: The fee of $1 per minute ($5 minimum) will be charged for participants not picked up by the scheduled ending time.

Qualified staff leads a variety of hands-on activities to include: art, storytelling, math readiness, circle time, and music movement. Must be fully pottytrained. 8-week structured group class that emphasizes practical strategies to reduce fear of falling and increase activity levels. Learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals to increase activity, change your environment to reduce the risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance. Services to Newark residents are provided through a partnership between the City of Newark and the City of Fremont’s Human Services Department. Eligibility Requirements for RIDE-ON TRI-CITY! transportation services: • Newark residents who are 70 years of age or older; OR, • Newark residents who are unable to use public transportation independently due to a disability or disabling health condition.

Subsidized curb-to-curb taxi rides in the Tri-City area using a taxi voucher. Taxi vouchers cost $4 each and subsidize up to $16 of taxi meter fare.

Ride-Hailing Service (through Lyft):

Pilot program starting soon... Subsidized curb-to-curb rides on Lyft in Tri-City area. Participants pay for the first $4 of their trip and up to $16 of additional trip costs will be subsidized.

Wheelchair-Accessible Van Service:

Participants requiring special door-to-door assistance can get subsidized wheelchair-accessible van rides in Tri-City area. Participants pay $4 per one-way trip, using a pre-paid voucher.

A Transportation Resources Specialist from RIDE-ON TRICITY! can assess your individual needs and work with you in-person or over the phone to answer any questions you have about transportation and how to get around the community. • Learning how to ride public transit buses or BART • Obtaining and learning how to use a Clipper card • Finding and applying for affordable transportation alternatives if you no longer drive and cannot take public transit • Learning how to use ride-hailing services, like Lyft. • Renewing your driver’s license, obtaining a DMV Disabled Parking placard or figuring out how to maintain driving safety as you age. CLIPPER CARD Workshops

Learn about Clipper, the all-in-one transit card, the first Thursday of every month from 10:00-11:00am at the Clark W. Redeker Newark Senior Center. This FREE workshop will teach you all the ins and outs of using Clipper. Learn How to Ride Buses and BART

Join this FREE Travel Training workshop and get a Clipper card with $15 in cash value. Through classroom instruction and a field trip on bus and BART, participants learn how to plan trips, pay fares using Clipper Cards, transfer between bus and BART, and other useful tips for using transit safely. The Boat House, Chelsea Dr. at Lakeshore Park in Newark

Learn basic instruction on knot tying, casting, how to bait the hook and fish handling techniques. Bring your own pole or borrow one of ours. Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents are asked not to fish during the youth fishing time. The lake will be planted with fish for the event. California fish and game laws will be enforced and Fishing is limited to youth 8-16 years old during the fishing in the Cities program.
