Pre-registration is always required unless specified as a “drop-in-class”. We do not prorate for classes that have already begun.

Refund Policy:

Please notify us at least five (5) business days before the activity begins. A charge of $15 or 50% of the registration fee applies to refunds. Not all programs adhere to this refund policy.

Aquatics Refund Policy:

You have 24 hours from the time of registration in which to request a refund (all refunds have a $15 processing fee), or transfer to another time/ session (based on availability). After 24 hours, no refunds. Transfer may be granted up to 3 business days prior to the session start if there is space available. Transfers have a $15 processing fee. There are no make-up classes and/or credits/refunds for any classes missed due to accident, injury, illness, or personal scheduling conflicts. Doctor’s notes will not be accepted.

The following protocols will be in place for inperson activities: • Please arrive a few minutes early. • Only registered participants will be admitted entry. • Anyone 3rd Grade or above is required to wear a face mask. • Maintain physical distancing of 6’ or more from those not in your household. • Hand sanitizing stations will be provided so participants can clean their hands upon entry. • Everyone entering the facility will be screened. Temperature will be taken and persons who have a fever of 100 degrees or above or other signs of illness will not be admitted to the facility. We encourage parents to be on the alert for signs of illness in their children and to keep them home when they are sick. • While in the facility please use provided hand washing and sanitizing stations often, do not touch your face and remember to cough and sneeze into your shoulder (not your hand). • Staff is committed to increased cleaning and sanitation measures before, during and after each activity.

Swim Lessons

SWIM LESSON PROFICIENCY: COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS: All non-swimmers need to have a parent or older sibling in the water with them. If an older sibling will be in the water, the older sibling must be over the age of 16. No one will be allowed to remain on the pool deck if not participating in a swim lesson. Only participating children and parents will be allowed to enter the building. Swimmers who do not require an adult in the water will to have a completed waiver on file. Students must have a specific mastery of the skills/proficiency before moving to the next level as well as meet all the exit skill requirements. Proficiency is determined by staff. We reserve the right to move your child from the class you signed up for to one that is more developmentally appropriate. Silliman provides the highest quality of swim instruction available. We look at swim instruction as a necessary life skill and want to make swimming an enjoyable lifelong activity for you and your family. Lessons are tailored to age and skill within a set level system. SHALLOW WATER LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION TRAINING

Through online, classroom and in water training, earn your American Red Cross Shallow Water Lifeguard Certification (up to 5 feet deep), including First Aid, CPR, AED and Emergency Oxygen Administration, valid for 2 years. Due to the nature of the course, there will be training situations when participants will come in close contact with other participants. Below are some of the many safety precautions that will be observed throughout the training course. • Face coverings will be worn at all times unless in the water. • Social distance will be observed. When social distance is not possible, face coverings and/or additional personal protective equipment will be worn. • Training manikins will be used whenever possible to promote social distancing. • Equipment will be labeled and assigned to participants for use throughout the course. • Class size has been reduced and participants may be assigned into smaller groups. • Hand washing facilities and hand sanitizer will be readily available. • All participants will be required to pass a health screening prior to the start of each class session. Online sessions must be completed with a certificate of completion brought to the first day of in person sessions. Prerequisites: Participants must be able to swim 300 yards non-stop using freestyle and breast stroke, recover a 10lb weight from the water and tread water for 2 minutes with no hands prior to the first day of in person sessions. Newark Youth Fishing in the City Saturday, April 10, 8:00 – 11:00 am Boat House, Chelsea Dr., Newark Lakeshore Park Get “hooked” on fishing for life! Learn basic instruction on knot tying, casting, how to bait the hook and fish handling techniques. Bring a pole or use one of ours. Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents are asked not to fish during the youth fishing time. The lake will be planted with fish for the event. California fish and game laws will be enforced and Fishing is limited to youth 8-16 years old during the program.

Virtual Betty Gentry Dance Classes

All classes will be taught Via Zoom by our wonderful dance staff! Links and log in information will be sent out the day of the first class. Ride-Hailing Service (through Lyft): Pilot program... Subsidized curb-to-curb rides on Lyft in Tri-City area. Participants pay for the first $4 of their trip and up to $16 of additional trip costs will be subsidized.
