NEW Tiny Tot Dance

For our youngest dancers, gently guiding and introducing them to the joy of movement. Fundamental movement patterns, rhythm skills, and coordination activities will unite to enhance your child’s gross motor development, listening skills, and socialization in this fun 30-minute dance class. Regular shoes or ballet shoes are recommended for this class (NO sandals).

Fancy Feet Dance Classes

An Introduction to Dance-This class is perfect for the preschooler who loves to dance. In this class, students will be introduced to basic tap steps, ballet, and tumbling. Children will need tap and ballet shoes.

Dance in a Parade!

Be a part of the award-winning Betty Gentry Dance Program Parade Team! Participants will learn a forward moving dance to perform during the parade route. Must have previous dance experience and be able to attend all of the classes in order to participate in the parade. Specific parade information will be distributed the first day of class.

Newark Day’s Parade: Saturday, September 16th

Registration deadline: 8/31 by 5:00pm

Rehearsals will consist of warm-ups, learning of choreography, and continuous rehearsing of the forward moving choreography. Dance technique will not be taught in this performance only class.

Niles Festival of Lights: Friday, November 24th

Costume information will be shared the beginning of November, before parade rehearsals. *All dancers will be responsible for their own parade costume, including a minimum of two strands of battery-operated lights and batteries.

NEW Autism Connections!

A space for children on the Autism Spectrum to learn, play and grow. Classes are specifically designed to provide opportunities for children on the Autism Spectrum to connect with peers. In addition, parents will have the opportunity to connect with one another and build community. At least 1 Parent/Guardian who is 18+ is required to attend the entire duration of the class.

Social Play: Children in the Social Play Group will participate in interactive activities with peers. The Social Play group is for children ready to use their verbal communication skills to interact in a group setting.

Sensory Play: The Sensory Play Group will emphasize sensory experiences allowing children to engage and express themselves in a safe space alongside their peers. The Sensory Play group is for children with limited communication skills.

Family Fun Runs

Walk or run all are welcome. Themed runs, oversized games, music, giveaways, and a healthy way to kick off your weekend. One registration is required per family. The run begins promptly at 5:00pm.

Preschool

Our preschool program is designed to provide an early education experience for ages 3-4 that includes both group and individual learning opportunities. Curriculum focuses on basic fundamentals of math and literacy. The goal of our program is to provide an environment where children are encouraged to grow, learn, and prepare for TK and ultimately Kindergarten. Children must be 3 years old prior to September 1, 2023 and fully potty trained.

Mommy/Daddy & Me Soccer

The fun happens on the field, so don’t just watch from the sidelines! Here is your chance to join in your toddler’s introduction to the world’s most popular sport. You’ll participate in fun, age-appropriate activities, and help your child to develop their motor and socialization skills. A variety of soccer activities are played each week. Adult participation is required.

Little tykes will enjoy running and kicking just like the big kids! Children will have fun and learn the basic techniques of the game while building self-esteem. Children learn to follow instructions in a nurturing, age-appropriate environment. All participants receive a Kidz Love Soccer jersey!

Kidz Love Soccer: Soccer 1

Players will learn dribbling, passing, defense and shooting goals! Fun skill games are played at every session, and every participant will have a ball at their feet. Small-sided soccer matches will be introduced gradually. Perfect for first time players while being fun and engaging for kids with some experience. All participants receive a Kidz Love Soccer jersey! Jr. Warriors Little Shooters Basketball League

Instructional league in partnership with the Golden State Warriors will emphasize the fundamentals, develop player teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and fair play. Kidz Love Soccer: Soccer 2

A great introduction to competitive soccer, Skillz and Scrimmages teaches advanced skill building such as dribbling, passing, and shooting in a team format, as well as an introduction to goaltending. Kids will scrimmage and learn to play together as a team. Kids get exposure to playing every position and have a blast doing it. Appropriate for players of varying skill levels. And... best of all, each participant receives a Kidz Love Soccer jersey!

Jr. Warriors Youth Basketball League

Club V.I.P. Volleyball

Since 1997 Club V.I.P. volleyball has provided reps and a progressive program designed to be taken multiple times to help breakdown skills to build up a solid foundation.

Level 1 Skills Training: This program is for players that need to develop consistency and control in their skills. Evaluations will be held at the end of each session.

Level 2 Team Training:

Level 2 Team Training program is NOT FOR BEGINNERS, but for players that have instructor approval from Level 1 Programs. The course is designed to be taken multiple times to help players learn the roles of the positions on the court, and it focuses heavily on a pass, set, hit structure. Players will be taught player positions, different transitions on the court and the fundamentals of a rally score game. Evaluations will be held at the end of each session.

Euro School of Tennis “Tennis Match Play”

Our Tennis Match Play program will help your child to develop social connections with their peers. At Euro Tennis, we stress important factors that are directly involved with playing a tennis match that are also beneficial to your child’s future: critical thinking, independence, sportsmanship & endurance. These are concepts they will learn through not only tennis Match Play programs, but through any of our programs. A good, spirited competition is highly promoted through these programs and will gain a sense of great sportsmanship. Our tennis Match Play program is all about respect for your teammates and the fun sport of tennis.

Self Defense Karate

For Ages 5-17

Learn basic self-defense techniques in a fun and supportive “safety awareness” program, develop self-confidence, discipline, and strength through the practice of basic Karate. Belt promotions will be held at the conclusion of each session. Uniforms ($50) and advancement belts (testing $15) may be purchased from the instructor.

KSB Skate DOJO

Beginner and novice-level skateboarders learn the basics and fundamentals of skateboarding. Skateboarding can build one’s confidence and is a great creative as well as physical art form. Skateboard, helmet and pads are required for this class.

Chess for Beginners

Learn how to play chess. Chess is a great activity to exercise your brain. It builds patience, focus, the ability to plan ahead and good sportsmanship. Learn the basics: board set up, how the pieces move and some basic strategies for the beginning, middle and end games. Nothing needs to be purchased for class, just show up ready to learn.

KENDO “The Way of the Sword”

Beginner:

For those who have never practiced Kendo or need to brush up on the fundamental movements of Kendo. The beginner class focuses on the basics and understanding the characteristics of kendo. A non-refundable material fee of $35 is due to the instructor on the first day of class.

Intermediate/Advanced:

For both those who have recently graduated from the beginner course and experienced kendo practitioners who are able to demonstrate proficiency in the fundamentals of KENDO. Instructor approval is required prior to enrollment.

T he Ride-On Tri-City! Group Travel Training Program teaches seniors and persons with disabilities how to use public transit through travel training workshops, individualized training, transit outings and access to Senior Clipper cards. Classroom training and field outings on bus and BART are combined to teach participants how to plan trips, read transit schedules, use a Clipper Card to pay fares, transfer between buses and BART and travel on transit safely. Participants receive a free Clipper card with $15 in cash value.
