PUBLIC NOTICE The St. Clair County Public Housing Agency, administered by West Central Missouri Community Action Agency, will conduct a Public Hearing on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. to discuss its annual plan for fiscal year beginning October 1, 2014. The plan will be submitted to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development by July 2014. A copy of the proposed plan will be at each county outreach center for review prior to the Public Hearing.

Lisa having grown up in Creston, Iowa with her parents and two younger sisters, it became evident even at a young age she was the protector and leader. Lisa’s father was a railroader and her mom stayed at home until Lisa went to college. She learned from her parents at a young age that family was most important which lead to Lisa’s main endeavor.

During high school and college, music of all areas was her driving force.

While in college, she worked briefly for a friend at a real estate office and loved scheduling appointments and attending open houses. After college she worked in a local bank for 11 years gaining excellent knowledge in all areas of banking. During that time she met the love of her life at her sister’s wedding while walking down the aisle in the wedding party. Less than two years later, they invited her sister and new husband to witness their wedding vows in 1995.

Shortly after their wedding, Ken started his career with the railroad.

Between 1997 and 2000, they welcomed three children to their family; Trevor, Garrett and Kelsie. In 2003, an opportunity became available in Kansas City, Missouri for her husband to transfer with the railroad. Deciding it would be a good move for their family, they moved to Platte City, Missouri, where she was able to stay at home with their three young children for several years.

Lisa returned to work when the perfect position at the school opened allowing her to spend evenings, weekends, holidays, and summers with her family. “Working in special education with students, preschool through high school was a very rewarding and fulfilling experience.” After four years, she became attached to the students and was sad to leave.

Ken was offered a position in management with the railroad which brought them to Nevada, Missouri.

Relocating was another difficult decision for their family with the children involved in school activities, it was a surprisingly easy transition for them.

The Nevada community has been very welcoming and friendly. This helped the children to settle in well and they all share Lisa’s love of music. Since arriving in Nevada, Lisa has been involved in the Nevada Band Boosters and was currently elected as secretary of the board 2014.
