CHILI COOK-OFF RULES, ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, AND ENTRY INFORMATION • Our location for this year’s event will be on the vacant lot north of the Great Southern Bank building.

• Check in time for the contest begins at 7:30 a.m. You must check in prior to beginning any cooking.

Check in requirements: Minimum of 5lbs. uncooked meat.

• Contestants must provide all of their own cooking supplies - grills, tables, chairs, utensils and ingredients.

Remember no electricity will be provided.

• All preparations and cooking must be done at the cook site. Cooking requirements: Chili must reach and maintain a temperature of 140 degrees. Temperature will be checked prior to judging.

• Judging will begin at 11:00 a.m. Chili will be judged on the following criteria: Aroma, Appearance (consistency and color), Taste and Aftertaste.

Note: Contestants will be provided a bowl with a number attached. Bowls will be delivered to the judges table at 11:00 a.m.

• The United Way Committee or United Way Agencies will sell the chili. We will also provide bowls, spoons, and appropriate condiments, and change. The United Way Committee will also handle all money. Serving will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Chili will be sold as follows: Take home bowl $4; Taster’s bowl $5; 12 oz. bowl $3.
