Issue: VOTER DISENFRANCHISEMENT: to deprive someone of some privilege, especially the right to vote according to Wiktionary.

In the Nevada Daily Mail dated Sept. 3, 2014 Volume 131 Number 147 it states: “Ewing said the matter came to his attention in July after a member of the public saw a “Dunfield for Prosecutor” sign in a yard while the person was visiting garage sales in Nevada. That person contacted Ewing, who said he was duty-bound to look into the matter. Ewing said he was required by law to contact various law enforcement agencies once he determined the merits of the claim.”

In the Missouri Revised Statutes Chapter 56 Section 56.087.1 it states: “The prosecuting or circuit attorney has the power, in his or her discretion, to dismiss a complaint, information, or indictment, or any count or counts thereof, and in order to exercise that power it is not necessary for the prosecutor or circuit attorney to obtain the consent of the court. The dismissal may be made orally by the prosecuting or circuit attorney in open court, or by a written statement of the dismissal signed by the prosecuting or circuit attorney and filed with the clerk of court.”

The American Bar Association rule for maintaining the integrity of the [legal] profession Rule 8.2 states: “(a) A lawyer shall not make a statement that the lawyer knows to be false or with reckless disregard as to its truth or falsity concerning the qualifications or integrity of a judge, adjudicatory officer or public legal officer, or of a candidate for election or appointment to judicial or legal office. (b) A lawyer who is a candidate for judicial office shall comply with the applicable provisions of the Code of Judicial Conduct.”
