A New Chapter T H E L O C A L U M B R E L L A

The Local Umbrella is a cafe for everyone, specially created to be sensory-friendly.

We want all people to feel included and welcome in our space, and we do our best to keep things calm and cosy.
When the cafe first started, we turned a big empty space into a safe and comfy place for people to eat, drink, play, learn and catch up with friends.

After a year, the building we were in had some problems like a leaky roof, cold breezes and lots of things needing fixing.
To make sure that The Local Umbrella stayed a safe and cosy place, we decided it was time to move.
And guess what happened?

We found somewhere even better for our awesome community!

Now we are located at 70 Main St, Croydon. Our cafe, group programs, parties and events will all happen here, and it is just right for us!

When you visit The NEW Local Umbrella, you will notice some things that are different. Like some new tables, a different kitchen, extra toilets and different lights.

But you will also notice lots of the same things. Same comfy chairs, same toys, same menu, and lots of the same lovely staff members.

The Local Umbrella will grow and change in some ways as the years go on, and we always love to hear about what you like and what we can improve and make better.

But the most important thing that will stay the same is that everyone is welcome, and we are always looking forward to your visits!
