This playbook guides architects and planners in the designing a sensor network to study inequities in environmental hazards around a development site, and connecting data to participatory models that engage communities in a science-based, equity-focused co-design process. This work was led by Professor Michelle Laboy at the School of Architecture at Northeastern University in Boston, with funding provided by the Latrobe Prize awarded by the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows in 2022, and in collaboration with the City of Chelsea and La Colaborativa.
