BDO Canada LLP has been in Uxbridge since 1991 and a member of the Uxbridge Networking Group since Randy Hickey first joined the organization as a corporate sponsor 14 years ago. Heather Allison, CPA, CA, the Senior Manager at BDO, elaborates. “The best way to get a referral is to give one – so having a network of similar minded people is beneficial because referrals are our primary source of new clients.” But that’s not where the benefits of being an Uxbridge Networking Group member end. According to Heather, they are currently looking to hire more talent and enhance their services to better serve new and existing clients. One of the most notable ways in which they plan to do this is by helping their clients navigate the ever-changing terrain of tax legislation so they can minimize implications come tax time and, ultimately, maximize their life.

Helping their clients make more informed decisions about their money is just another way BDO is guiding people to better work-life balance. “Advances in technology have changed a lot. Uxbridge has a lot of residents who work in Toronto but more recently have the ability to work from home. At BDO, we try to serve the needs of our clients so they can optimize their goals.”
