Emergencyintheoffice
There are different types of emergencies that occur in the workplace (either in the office or a remote space). When was the last time you needed to use the office First Aid kit, or the Emergency exit? Do you know where fire extinguishers and fire blankets are located? No? Next time you are in the office take a few moments to walk around and familiarise yourself
Whattodo
In the event of an emergency, assess the risk to yourself and others, protect yourself and others, and seek help. Netwealth has certified fire wardens, first aid officers, mental health champions and a health & safety rep who will provide guidance and direction in an emergency Nominated volunteers are listed around the office and on the intranet.
VisitorSafety
Those who have visitors attending the office are responsible for the safety of their visitors. Ensure you are aware of the location of the First Aid Kits and inform a First Aid Officer if treatment is required
Injuryandincidentrecording
All injuries and incidents are to be reported to the WHS committee (whscommittee@netwealth.com.au) via Working accident & Incident Form, for investigation and follow up This includes near-misses, which are situations when injury could have occurred but didn’t on an occasion, and may in the future if not evaluated
Ergonomic - poor design of equipment, and workstation design, (postural) or workflow, manual handling, repetitive movement
Physical hazards - slips, tripping hazards, falls, exposure to loud noises, working from heights, vibrations, and unguarded machinery
Chemical hazards - liquids or materials that can cause fires, explosions, corrosion, and hazardous reactions if not handled safely
Workplace behaviour – unacceptable conduct, such as bullying, harassment (including sexual harassment), violence and victimisation
Emergencyataremotelocation
When working at home, you are required to follow the same procedures as working in the office All exits are to be kept clear, a first aid kit must be accessible, and all injuries and incidents are to be reported.
