An introduction to the

North Staffordshire Medical Institute and Conference Centre Centrally located between the market town of Newcastle-under-Lyme and the city of Stoke-on-Trent, the North Staffordshire Medical Institute and Conference Centre is the ideal venue to host your next meeting, conference, function or training event.

Opened in 1965, as the first purpose-built post-war postgraduate centre for medical and dental education and research in Britain, the North Staffordshire Medical Institute set a pattern for other districts all over the UK. The Institute Charity funds potentially lifesaving local medical research into projects such as heart research, treatment following a stroke, ovarian cancer, prostatic cancer and mental illness, amongst many others.

As a not-for-profit organisation, the North Staffordshire Conference Centre ensures the upkeep of the charity through surplus monies from room hire, enabling the Institute to continue funding vital medical research.

Conference Facilities Wade Hall

The larger of our two lecture theatres, the Wade Hall comfortably seats 154 delegates in an impressive two-tiered setting. This room comes complete with an additional breakout landing space, which acts as the perfect area for delegates to enjoy a buffet lunch or a drink at our fully licensed bar. Flooded with natural daylight and with impressive views of the surrounding area, both the spacious Wade Hall and versatile upstairs landing space are favourites with many of our visitors.

Our state of the art audio-visual equipment can be hired at an additional cost, to give your conference that extra professional touch and our dedicated reservations team will be on hand throughout the day, to ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible.

Conference Facilities Nadin Theatre Located on our ground floor is the Nadin Theatre. Seating 63 delegates, this room is the second of our two lecture theatres, offering the same professional setting as the Wade Hall at a fraction of the cost.

Complete with air conditioning and a small shared breakout space, the Nadin Theatre is ideal for smaller lectures, conferences and presentations.

Council Room Situated on the first floor and with a spacious breakout landing space included, the Council Room offers exceptional versatility for a range of meetings, conferences, workshops or training sessions. This room comfortably seats 20 delegates.

Similar to the Council Room, Seminar Room 1 seats 20 delegates in a range of different layouts. Most commonly used for classroom-style training events, workshops and courses, this room also comes with a shared breakout space in the atrium.

Delegates can enjoy light refreshments in this area, which can also be utilised as a networking space or registration point. As with all of our rooms, our complimentary Wi-Fi can be accessed both within the room and breakout space.

Seminar Rooms 2, 3, 4 & 5

Possibly the most versatile rooms in our building are Seminar Rooms 2, 3, 4 and 5. Individually, these rooms can be used for smaller meetings and conferences for up to 12 delegates and all include complimentary Wi-Fi. The acoustic folding partitions between the rooms provide the option of a bigger working space for up to 50 delegates, and can even be used for formal dinners and catering.

Functions & Events With a variety of rooms and spaces available to hire, the North Staffordshire Conference Centre is the perfect venue for your function or private event. Our clean, light and airy upstairs landing area and fully-licensed bar, provides the ideal open space for your wedding reception, party or wake, whilst our seminar rooms can be utilised as a formal banqueting area, seating up to 50 guests.

Bentley’s can offer a wide range of mouth-watering menus for you to select from, or, if you’d prefer to devise your own, the team would be more than happy to provide it for you.

Whether you’re looking for a Full English Breakfast, a buffet or cooked lunch, a five course evening meal with wine, or just light refreshments throughout the day, we believe that you’ll be totally satisfied by the quality of our catering.

Hot food is normally served on the first floor, in the dining area, Council Room, Seminar Rooms or other public areas.

Refreshments and cold buffets can be served on both floors in all rooms and public areas.

Drinks can be served from our fully licensed bar on a cash basis or for settlement afterwards.

How to find us

We are ideally located on the main road of Hartshill Road, between both Newcastleunder-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent and less than 2 miles away from Stoke-on-Trent Railway Station. The Centre is easily accessible by road, being just 4 miles from Junction 15 of the M6 and 8 miles from Junction 16.

We also have an onsite private car park that is free for all of our visitors.
