Walking Dwaddle

by Nicolas

I met Aslan when I was imaging the coronation of Prince Caspian to be the new King of Narnia. Aslan was suddenly there. He just walked out of the forest. And then Bacchus did a dance and ran scampering to Aslan where he kissed his feet. And Aslan bounded him by his nose up into the air and he flipped onto Aslan’s back and rode Aslan up to the center of the clearing where we were gathered.

I went up to Aslan when it was my turn and I buried my face in his mane and it smelled like fresh air, like the outdoors. And then Aslan said to me, “Be kind” and I said “Yes I will be kind Aslan.”

And then I was whisked away to the top of a mountain from where I could see the valley below and all the people moving. And Aslan said, “From up here you can see everything. You can see how things are. That is the power of mountains.” And then he blew me on his breath and I floated gently back down into the valley where I rejoined the celebration.
