HERO
Bravo!
NET99 STAFFERS ARE MY HERO’S IN WORKERS’ MONTH!
Firstly, before anything else, I must complement my Net Nine Nine colleagues during this Workers’ Month, which commemorates and pays tribute to South Africa’s swedge of workers and their trade unions for unity and fair employment standards.
There is nothing as soothing, calming and healing your soul than having hardworking and capable team of co-workers who are working as a collective, and not in silos - and, that is the Net Nine Nine team .
Our first edition of “Be a Hero” last month was received well by our clients whom I would like to refer to as family, and for that, I bow down to my colleagues who worked together in ensuring we had an informative edition, and I am now convinced this will blow your mind away.
In this edition we are looking into our bundles of joy who spend the better part of their lives studying, but not forgetting their hardworking parents who equally spend time before their laptops, or technology of any sort requiring internet connection.
Did I hear someone say “internet”?
This is where Net Nine Nine comes in with the cheapest ever rates that have been proven to change lives, forever.
Spending time with principals, teachers and learners has given us an indication that Net Nine Nine is in demand.
Hearing that there are some schools out there still battling with internet connection, I’ve sent out my capable internet fibre team of technicians who are currently in contact with the schools to be connected for free, MAHALA, which
has been proven to turn around the landscape of teaching, and learning too.
It was heart wrenching to hear that some educators are left with no choice but to use their own money to research for classes, something that can easily be resolved by Net99.
We’ve adopted close to 20 schools so far have been connected with our free internet fibre in townships, and this has been absorbed by communities like duck to water. Signing out, please, please South Africa, help us protect our infrastructures out in your communities.
Those poles and cables are changing lives, and you don’t want to be left behind when it comes to the digital transformation, as the migration is going fast and we don’t want you left behind.
Lastly, please guard carefully against the lads and lasses who are reportedly venturing into a new habit of stealing fibre cables and apparently using it as mixture to feed their drug cravings. There’s nothing in those cables that can be used to smoke or sell.
Let’s protect our equipment, it belongs to you Mzansi. Sharp bonkgonne!

FREE ONLINE LEARNING MADE POSSBLE
FOR SCHOOLS WITH NET NINE NINE!
Bachana Mokwena Primary’s learning methods set for major tansformation
Bachana Mokwena Primary School in Ga-Rankuwa View, north of Pretoria in Tshwane, is racing against time to catch up with the rest of institutions across the world when it comes to the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) –Rapid technological advancement for the 21st century.
Before the Net Nine Nine crew visited the school earlier in the month of April 2024, the institution heads had lost hope, and seemed content they would have to make do without an expensive internet connection.
Principal Harry Rapoo said they’re a “full service institution” aimed at producing future leaders in the country, learners who would represent Mzansi with aplomb in technological advancements for the future. Their hard work seem to be bearing fruits after having produced hordes of pupils who are currently on different respectable career paths.
However “a fast internet connection is an essential tool in a world where robotics and automation are the framework of enabling organisations to manage their IT costs, management of staff, and streamline their processes to improve service delivery” – according to TechTarget, an internationally acclaimed technology publication.
Net Nine Nine is putting final nails to connecting Bachana Mokwena Primary School, and had a chat with Rapoo, who said he’s won numerous national awards for his dedication and hard work, but the lack of internet connection seem to be delaying his means to defend his “Best Principal” title in South Africa.
“I am a nationally acclaimed school principal, always serving with distinction, and I’m on the path of continuing with my celebrated title,” said Rapoo while walking us through to the school’s fully equipped computer lab. An internet connection would dramatically improve the value learners could get from this facility, he added.
“Our computer lab is well structured and equipped, bar an internet connection. Net Nine Nine’s free internet connection would help us a lot, learners would enable them to do their own research freely with an unlimited connection. Net Nine Nine offers schools an uncapped fibre connection with the line speed between 200mbps to
1gbps for the full term of sponsership. “They (learners) are also interested in researching more about the work taught in class, and they see it practically, but it all needs internet. We would appreciate the sponsership from Net Nine Nine, which would help the school with research and marketing.
“Internet connection is a critical component for our growth. This would fast track things, resolve issues of online meetings, as well as those who’d be working from home. It would be easy for those who don’t attend meetings one-on-one. Even SGB (school governing body) members don’t need to be here in person at times, but can connect online.”
He added learners would also be in a position to do their projects using internet connection. This is a fundamental need for the school. “I am not just making up stories, internet is a necessity for every school attending learners.”
“The forth industrial revolution has taken over the world, it’s a fact. We need to move fast because time waits for no man,” Rapoo added.
“Most of these learners don’t have such facilities (internet) at home. These days life is all about internet, trust me. Everything needs internet. The worst punishment a parent would give to their child is denying them internet access.”
He admitted that a paid internet connection in South Africa is too costly for his school “and we haven’t even tried other network operators, we just don’t have budget for it”. “Net Nine Nine is super-fast. I know this because I have it at home. Having Net Nine Nine at my school would be a big bonus in our endevour as educators and the pupils,” said Rapoo.
“Net Nine Nine has now connected over 20 scools with free 1gbps fibre internet connections and its commited to connect all primary and high schools within its coverage areas. All we need is our application to be completeed and processed and we’ll arrange the conncetion. Our focus is on government schools that cannot afford a connection on their own”- Says marketing manager: Shanai Pillay

REVOLUTIONISING MZANSI EDUCATION!
The world is an oyster for Lesolang Primary
If you thought Net Nine Nine is all about providing internet fibre to low income communities, then you’re right. We’ve developed connections with tens of schools in our areas of reach across the country. This is not just lip service - our community social investment (CSI) initiatives goes beyond measures recommended and Gazetted by the South African government, and it’s now part of our DNA.
Our involvement with people residing in lower Living Standard Measure (LSM) has nothing but earned this leading internet fibre company the trust of its communities and the right of passage to the fourth industiral revolution.
This month the “Be a Hero” team spent time within the Pretoria North areas in Tshwane – Ga-Rankuwa – where we visited schools that have been connected with free fibre by Net Nine Nine, and they’re smiling from ear-toear, basking in the glory of internet, with their indexfinger glued on to the computer mouse.
Lesolang Primary School principal and head teacher, Phillip Moloto, was waxing lyrical on how Net Nine Nine changed the stereopsis within their teaching patterns. He said educators’ ways and means of teaching have now been upped 10 folds.
“Never in our existence had we thought this school would have uninterrupted internet connection,” Moloto said with a broad smile and elevated voice.
“You see, we have had a computer lab, but it was ineffective without internet. Government at some point had a hotspot tower next to the school, but it was switched off before we could use it.
“Teachers had to dig deeper into their pockets to acquire internet data from their LTE pocket routers to further their standard of educating via internet. In all honesty, it is close to impossible to sustain the process where they have to download big files, and the system would buffer until the data ran out.
“Net Nine Nine fell on our school ground like manna from heaven, and we’re now miraculously surfing the net like the so-called Model-C schools.” Indeed, walking around the school, some children bore testimony that internet was what they needed, and they enjoying their ways and of technological advancement.
It was fundamentally relevant for Net Nine Nine to bridge the gap and look up to the communities that had lost hope, but the world seems to be their oyster today.

NET NINE NINE
TO HELP SAVE AFRICA FROM DATA PRICES
As Africa sprints towards the highly-anticipated Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), the fundamental change in the way the world lives, works and relates to one another, basically a new chapter in human nature. Prominent South African ISP (internet service provider), Net Nine Nine, has been assigned to create a competitive environment to help drive data prices down on the continent.
Decision makers and highly acclaimed delegates from across Africa met at the Zimbabwe Investment Summit hosted by the Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre, Kempton Park on Friday, 3 May 2024, and deliberations led suggestions to revolutionise the price of data on the continent.
One delegate indicated that Zimbabwe is filled with talented artisans, craftsmen, entrepreneurs, business people and small businesses that need affordable ways to get themselves on the map.
Often, having the ability to communicate, advertise and facilitate purchases is made significantly easier through digital channels, and they believe Net Nine Nine can help.
“Our dream at Net Nine Nine is to provide affordable access to the internet throughout all of Africa. Our pilot area in Kagiso, Gauteng has proven the need for an affordable and high quality alternative to mobile data exists. Extremely high mobile data costs means that many Africans only use data for their most crucial needs. For many, this impairs their ability to achieve greatness. Affordable data prices will be to the benefit of all Africans across our beautiful continent,” indicated Net99’s Richard Genlloud - Head of Marketing
Page 8
NNN
“At the Zimbabwe Investment Summit this year, both Zimbabwe and South African delegates expressed the need of service providers like Net Nine Nine to create a competitive environment to help drive data prices down.”
Africa has some of the most expensive data prices across the world. This is made worse by the fact that many Africans earn less than their international counterparts.
Africans are forced to limit their internet usage, inturn reducing their ability to compete on a global scale. This is a factor that should be condemned by all internet service providers in Africa.

RUSTENBURG BASKS IN GLORY, AS NET99 LANDS!
Excitement is growing big in Boitekong, Pardekraal and Sunrise Park in Rustenburg, with news that they would soon have an alternative to their expensive LTE internet connections, but rather converting to fast, uninterrupted optic internet fibre – thanks to Net Nine Nine.
Net Nine Nine, South Africa’s fastest growing internet fibre giant with the lightning speed surfing of the net, an adjustment for the semi-rural areas never thought would happen.
Seeing the Net Nine Nine crew working in their streets, some of the community members couldn’t help but stop them to enquire on timelines, as they cannot wait any longer for their area to migrate to fibre internet.
Even politicians, academics, and entrepeneurs old and young are anxiously awaiting the transformation of their lives, but they were told to be patient, as setting up the infrastructure could take a while. Soon should be live, and will be surfing the internet.
The 29-year-old Paul Mogwere, Erick Lamola (22yrs), Karabo Tshabangu (23yrs), Elisa Dube (44yrs) and Boitumelo Sebatana (49) all shared the same sentiments that change is eminent in their townships, and they look forward to changing their lives.
Many of whom are looking for employment, Lamola and Tshabangu, stopped while the Net99 crew was in conversation with Sebatana and Mogwere to indicate their interest in working for the optic internet fibre telecommunication company.
“We have been hearing positive feedback about Net99 in communities where they are connected, and now we are excited that it is our turn,” Lamola indicated.
“I have been looking for employment for many years, and I have a smartphone but with no internet connection it’s worth nothing. Data prices are too expensive for us, and downloading job pamphlets depletes data fast. LTE here is slow, expensive and doesn’t get good signal here.
“Little does Net99 know that their implementation of fibre here would change many lives. We can live stream news, movies and documentaries with your unlimited fibre connection, which I am told does not buffer and it’s super fast.”
Tshabangu says he was a bit skeptical when rumour made rounds that they will soon have fibre, “but it would be implemented in phases” then he had doubts it will reach them, if at all.
“The telecommunication industry and government are not helping us as the youth,” he raised his point. “Yes there are no jobs, but such resources as internet fibre could open up opportunities for the youth to seek employment and learn on the net. Unfortunately the unregulated data prices, especially for the unemployed, it’s a big challenge.”
Though the infrastructure is at its infancy stage in the area the hope is strong that their community will soon be connected, and community leaders have given the go-ahead to change people’s live.

WE BLOW THE WHISTLE ON DRUG ABUSE
Net99 and CPC’s
awarenessraising activities calms the nerves
Free State school learners were left basking in the glory of meeting their football idols at the Mangaung Outdoor Sports Centre on 26 April 2024, with more than 25 of legends having converged at the breadbasket of South Africa.
Mostly made up of former Bafana Bafana players, the legends conducted soccer clinics the entire Friday afternoon, as the team that comprised Jabu Mahlangu, William Okpara, Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane, Katlego “Mahoota” Mashego, Lebohang “Cheeseboy” Mokoena, Joseph Ngake, David Modise, Morgan Gould, Teboho Moloi, Thabo “Section 10” Qalinge and Josta Dladla.
The legends were at the home of grain production gearing up for an important friendly the next day, with theme of the weekend being “Say NO to drugs” - a campaign by Concerned Parents Campaigns (CPC) in partnership with Net Nine Nine, South Africa’s leading internet fibre institution. In fact, CPC-Net99 saw it fit to incorporate the day with the festivities to commemorate South Africa’s 30-years of democracy at the Dr Rantlai Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.
Net Nine Nine’s campaign against the usage of drugs and illicit trafficking gained traction in the Free State on that weekend of the 26th and 27 April 2024 where South Africa’s leading Internet Service Provider (ISP) hosted a highly attended awarenessraising event against the abuse of illegal substances, and the Mangaung Municipality helped make it
Page 12 NNN
possible. A throng of supporters descended on the Dr Rantlai Petrus Molemela to witness best of the yesteryear of South African football stars, returning to the playing field to entertain the crowd, which surpassed 8 000.
The Bloemfontein Celtic Legends hosted the Gauteng Legends where the latter seem to be too powerful for their counterparts, easily winning 4-1 to loud cheers from the emphatic fans who were clad in their popular Siwelele colours.
The Celtic Legends comprised big names like David Modise, Patrick Malokase, Daniel Matsau, Kleinbooi Taaibos and Patrick Setlai, while the Gaungers brought with them Jabu “Ngwana wa Tshwenya” Pule, Reneilwe “Yeye” Lestholonyane and Katlego Mashego. Mahlangu made a heartwarming speech to the learners during clinics that he’s lucky to still be breathing oxygen as a former drug user, and they messed up his life in many facets.
Advised Mahlangu: “I’ve had car accidents, did a lot of things, hurt a lot of people, nearly lost my life, and I’m lucky to be alive. You might not be lucky like myself. Drugs are bad. Most of us come from poor families, but we had the talent.
I encourage all the children to stay away from drugs, and not fall in the same trap as me. Drugs destroy families and friendships.
Some of the players on the day, which included ladies teams, also had their say about drugs, and many of whom, said they need more of such events in the Free State which is under the drug abuse attack.
“We say no to drugs,” said majority of whom. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime has encouraged organisations in South Africa to also host such an event on 26 June 2024, as a day dedicated to the awareness of drug abuse.
OVERALL RESULTS:
• Bloemfontein Legends 1-4 Gauteng Legends
• Madrid Ladies 7-0 Queens Ladies
• Peace Lovers 1-1 Central University of Technology FS (Peace Lovers won 3-1 on penalties)
• Net99 FC 1-0 Bobbies Park 1-0

The year 2024 is well underway in the fibre industry!
The objectives of the Net Nine Nine team have remained constant - connect, and empower the people of South Africa, a single home at a time. Kicking off the year, having passed over 120 000 in 2023.
Revitalised and ready to achieve another successful year, having completed the groundwork, the Net99 team wheels are in motion towards connecting more homes in South Africa in the next phase. Growing our network throughout all the provinces of South Africa has been a goal since inception, to introduce SA to a brand of network services not experienced before. The North West communities are next in our rollout plate for the new financial year, expanding shortly thereafter into KwaZulu Natal before we make our way down to the southern coast of SA .
For the Free State, we are not done with you just yet, the spiritual homeland of the Basotho people are the next stop on our way before we conclude our Phase One. Phase TWO builds for 2024 will be released in the coming months, so, keep an eye on this publication, we could be heading to your areas next.
