XMAS WITH MTHATHA’S GANDA - GANDA!
JINGLE BELLS TO YOU ALL!

SATISFIED CLIENTS: YOU SPEAK OUR GO TO MEN ON THE GROUND

CHEERS TO THE COMELY NET NINE NINE TEAM! OUR 2024 HIT PARTIES!
THANK YOU, NET NINE NINE COMPATRIOTS, WE’LL BE BETTER IN 2025!

JINGLE BELLS TO YOU ALL!

In this edition, we reflect on the year that was and set our sights on an exciting 2025. Can you feel the Christmas spirit settling upon us? I certainly can!
The energy and camaraderie in the office are unmistakable, as our team eagerly looks forward to 2025—a year in which Net Nine Nine plans to further cement its place in the telecommunications industry.
In psychology, this festive feeling is often linked to goodwill, generosity, and a desire to revel in the season’s joy. Walking through our office, I can sense softened hearts, old grievances set aside, friendships rekindled, clients cherished, Christmas trees adorned with vibrant ornaments, and partners held close.
Unlike any other year in our journey, 2024 has been an extraordinary one for Net Nine Nine. We’ve gained recognition from major broadcasters and mainstream media, and—most importantly—our client base has tripled. For that, I say: Ngiyabonga, Ndo Livhuwa, Ndzi Khense Ngopfu, Ke a Leboga! Thank you, good people!
Driving across South Africa’s nine provinces and witnessing the joy on our clients’ faces fills me with pride.
From new stores opening across our regions, vibrant house murals painted in Net Nine Nine colours, and spaza shops embracing our brand, to schools being connected to the internet free of charge and NGOs supported through our CSI programme—it has been a year to remember.
It’s truly a privilege to be part of the Net Nine Nine family.
This festive edition is crafted for you to unwind after the challenges of 2024, a year marked by national elections and economic unpredictability that kept us all on edge.
Remember, it’s natural to feel mentally fatigued during this time, as our minds are inclined to slow down and relax. That’s why we’ve included a host of photos and highlights for you to enjoy.
On the flip side, if you’re not feeling particularly festive, that’s okay too—it’s perfectly normal to approach the season in your own way.
My advice for closing out 2024: Don’t shy away from embracing the Christmas spirit. Whether it’s visiting friends and family, tackling extra chores at home, exploring social media, or streaming movies with our reliable Net Nine Nine internet, make the most of the season. And above all, forgive those you feel may have wronged you—it’s the season for healing and growth.
To my Net Nine Nine family: let’s build an even stronger “happy family” in 2025.
Have a joyful festive season, and let’s reconnect in the new year. Jingle bells to you all—let’s keep connecting!

XMAS WITH MTHATHA’S GANDA - GANDA!
Mothiba set for busy eastern cape!
Like the versatile tractor-loader-backhoe (TLB) used for heavyduty tasks in farming and landscaping, Tshepo Mothiba, Net Nine Nine’s Mthatha Regional Manager, has vowed to move through the Eastern Cape with the same determination and capability.
The analogy of heavy machinery comes from Mothiba’s own reflections on the region’s challenging terrain, with uneven townships and elevated suburbs requiring twice the effort to bridge the divide.
Net Nine Nine made a bold entrance into Mthatha at the start of December 2024. With a store identified, shop coordinators brought onboard, and a team of sales agents assembled, the groundwork is set for connecting the people of this historic area.
Originally from Soshanguve, north of Pretoria, and now based in Dobsonville, Roodepoort, Mothiba has committed to employing local talent from the culturally rich and modern King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality.
South Africa’s top-rated Internet Service Provider (ISP) responded to an appeal from the Abathembu and Amampondo clans, who sought fast, reliable, and affordable internet to connect with the world despite their distance from Gauteng.
Mthatha’s service delivery challenges, including neglected main roads and limited infrastructure in villages, have made it difficult for businesses to thrive. However, Net Nine Nine’s “Ganda-Ganda” is ready to roll. Mothiba and his team are prepared to tackle these obstacles head-on to ensure success.
Having already spent time in Mthatha, Mothiba is relocating to the Eastern Cape, where he will live among attractions like the Kwelera National Garden, Nelson Mandela Museum, Magwa Falls, and the Dwesa-Cwebe Wildlife Reserve and Marine Sanctuary.
Net Nine Nine’s leadership knew what they were doing when they selected Mothiba as their “TLB” for Mthatha. His extensive experience in telecommunications, having worked for three ISPs since 2015, makes him the perfect fit for the job.
Mothiba joined Net Nine Nine in August 2024 as a Sales Manager. With a background in Journalism and majors in Marketing and Advertising from Boston Media House, he feels more fulfilled in telecommunications than he would have been in a newsroom.

“I’m excited about going to Mthatha, an area where I can flourish and connect with its people,” said Mothiba.“As a Ganda-Ganda, I will not leave any stone unturned. I will make sure that trees are shaken to drop fruits that we want as a company. I have big plans about Mthatha.

WE CONNECT MTHATHA WITH FIBRE 2025!

“As a Ganda-Ganda, I will leave no stone unturned. I’ll make sure the trees are shaken to drop the fruits we need as a company. I have big plans for Mthatha.
“I’ll start with 15–20 employees, growing to 40 over time. We’ll also have three store coordinators and stewards working alongside me. I’m deeply grateful to the Mthatha Royal family for their support, which has boosted my confidence.
“They’ve helped me learn and respect the AmaXhosa culture. It’s a privilege, and I’m planning to work closely with the King. We’ll open our office doors in January and start business operations.”
Mothiba plans to kick off promotional events in January with a soft launch of the Mthatha office, followed by a grand launch during the Easter break, featuring prominent artists from Mthatha.
“This festive season will be busy for me,” he admitted. “I’ll spend Christmas Day in Johannesburg with family, but the following day I’ll be back in Mthatha, continuing to familiarise myself with the area and its people.”
Despite his demanding schedule, Mothiba considers this a blessed Christmas. It’s his first festive season as a Regional Manager, a role he proudly embraces.
Alongside Thobani Dlamini, Mothiba spent much of November and early December training staff in Mthatha. Sales agents were taught brand-building strategies and how to handle rejection—a challenge that could dishearten newcomers to the industry.
Mothiba praised his managers, fellow Regional Managers, and colleagues for their motivation, guidance, and leadership. Their support, he says, plays an essential role in preparing him for the challenges ahead.

CHEERS TO THE COMELY NET NINE NINE TEAM!
In the world of telecommunications, companies rarely take a break—not even on public holidays, let alone during the festive season—and Net Nine Nine is no exception.
However, the Christmas spirit must touch everyone, and our service providers are no different. On the last day of November 2024, they gathered at the conference centre in Houghton to celebrate their hard work and reward excellence.
In a grand celebration, all employees from across eight provinces came together as a unit to hear the final messages of the year from CEO Albert Oosthuysen, Chief of Staff Nicholas Thipe, and Alex Kleingeld.
This was the moment when dedication was recognised and trophies found their rightful owners. The executives assured the team that 2025 will be even bigger and better.
While such promises may seem cliché, the same was said at the end of 2023, and indeed glimpses of improvement were visible throughout 2024, even though the celebrations remained local in Johannesburg.
Now, take a moment to feast your eyes on the stunning gala dinner attire worn by your hardworking Net Nine Nine colleagues—outfits that were far from the usual and perfectly fitting for this special occasion.

OUR 2024 HIT PARTIES!
Net Nine Nine’s Events Specialist, Nomvula Mosiea-Tiya, takes us through her best three events that stood out for the fibre internet company in 2024, which took the industry by storm.
These are three of hordes of events that Net Nine Nine lined up this year sharing the fibre internet space with its clients.
It wasn’t an easy feat having all South African football legends at a go in one stadium. That is when Gauteng football legends played against Free State legends, hosted in partnership with CPC (Concerned Parents Campaign) under the “Say No To Drugs” theme.
Bloemfontein’s Dr Petrus Rantlai Molemela Stadium was abuzz with football action as both organisations joined the world in helping curb escalating drug abuse cases.
Net Nine Nine’s campaign against the usage of drugs and illicit trafficking has gained traction in the Free State on the weekend of 26 and 27 April 2024 where South Africa’s leading Internet Service Provider (ISP), flanked by CPC, hosted masses.
Among players present on the way comprised Jabu Mahlangu, David Modise, Patrick Malokase, Daniel Matsau, Kleinbooi
Taaibos, Patrick Setlai, Reneilwe “Yeye” Lestholonyane, Katlego Mashego, Morgan Gould, Teboho Moloi, Thabo “Section 10” Qalinge and Joseph Ngake.
However, Vryheid’s Bhekuzulu also launched a store on 12 October 2024 that was mixed with the community’s favourite sports event, Mayoral Cup, which encompassed soccer, netball, basketball, volleyball and many other activities.
A day after this, also in partnership with Net Nine Nine in the Abaqulusi Municipality in the northern Zululand was a Cultural Festival where different prizes were on offer when local groups danced the day away, with a cow having been slaughtered to feast the thousands that attended.
Besides the two top events, Hammaskraal launched its store in July which was attended by Net99’s CEO Albert Oosthysen and Chief of Staff, Nicolas Thipe who cut the ribbon to declare the area open for business.
Among entertainers on the day were Tsekeleke and Dr Malinga of Lingas entertainment, as well as local groups, which included a brassband that performed on the day.

I must say, Net99’s Kwa Guqa customer service personnel is outstanding! My grandmother cannot stop talking about this sweet lady, Lusanda, who was patient with her throughout the payment processes, maintenance follow ups and even called her a few days later to make sure we are still connected! I’m not one to write reviews, but I’ll give her the flowers she deserves. NetNineNine customer service is de best especially for our parents and grandparents. My 69 year old grandmother saying “ Ngizo bhadala ngeLink “ made me realise how accommodating they are :) Thank you guys! Keep it up
