AFFORDABLE CONNECTIVITY STARTS WITH RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP

NET NINE NINE HAILED AS A GAME-CHANGER IN RUSTENBURG!
BUILDING STRONGER CONNECTIONS, ONE TEAM AT A TIME!

AFFORDABLE CONNECTIVITY
STARTS WITH RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP

There was a time when internet providers competed on speed alone, and it’s a reality.
Then came the battle for bigger data packages, flashy marketing campaigns and promotional stunts. Today, however, South Africans are facing a very different reality - every Rand counts.
Families are making difficult financial decisions, small businesses are watching every expense, parents are balancing school fees, groceries, transport and the rising cost of living.
In such an environment, affordable internet is no longer a luxury, it is a necessity, and this is not just cliché, but words that must be uttered frequently. That is why I believe the companies that will earn lasting customer loyalty are not necessarily those with the loudest advertisements, but those that genuinely understand the financial pressures their customers face.
Net Nine Nine has positioned itself strongly in this regard and we’re reaping fruits of our strategic leadership direction of CYNK chief executive, Albert Oosthuysen.
While many providers continue to increase prices or complicate their offerings, Net99 has demonstrated that it is possible to deliver reliable fibre connectivity without placing unnecessary strain on household budgets, especially those in rural villages.
Winning the pricing war is not simply about being the cheapest, it is about offering real value without compromising on quality, especially Net99 that has infiltrated all 32 villages under the Bakgatl aba Kgafela in Rustenburg, led by Kgosi Nyalala Pilane.
Customers want a network they can trust, one that keeps families connected, enables students to learn, allows entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and supports people working from home.
Lower prices mean very little if the service disappoints. What stands out to me is that this approach reflects leadership rather than short-term marketing.
Real leaders, like CYNK C-Suite, understand that sustainable business is built on long-term relationships and they recognise that looking after customers during difficult economic times creates trust that no advertising budget can buy.
It is easy to maximise profits when times are tough but it takes greater vision to create products that remain affordable while continuing to invest in network quality and customer experience.
However, that requires discipline, innovation and a genuine understanding of what communities need. South Africa’s digital future depends on making connectivity accessible to everyone, and I believe Net99 is winning that battle, actually, leading the way to others who follow in our foot-steps.
Every affordable fibre connection represents another learner accessing online education, another job seeker applying for employment, another entrepreneur growing a business and another family staying connected with loved ones.
The real winners in the pricing war are not the network providers but customers whose money stretches a little further each month without sacrificing the quality of the service they depend on.
Please, continue to rally behind this brand, it’s yours.

NET NINE NINE CONNECTS 702 WALK THE TALK!
Johannesburg’s winter chill did little to dampen the spirit of the hundreds of runners and walkers who gathered at Ellis Park on Sunday, 26 July 2026, for this year’s edition of the 702 Walk the Talk: Jozi My Jozi.
With 5 km, 8 km and 15 km distances on offer, the event brought together families, fitness enthusiasts, corporate teams and community-minded residents in a celebration of movement, city pride and social impact.
Behind the lively atmosphere, music, route activations and finish-line excitement was an essential layer of support that helped keep the day running smoothly. Reliable connectivity was critical as 702, a Primedia radio station, broadcast live from the Ellis Park precinct.
Net Nine Nine played a significant role in sponsoring connectivity for the event, helping to ensure that 702 remained on air throughout the day as the action unfolded across Johannesburg’s inner city. Through a procured service provider, Net Nine Nine ensured the technical backbone required for uninterrupted broadcasting was in place.

This support enabled the station to share live updates, capture the energy of the walkers, and keep listeners connected to the race-day experience from start to finish.
At an event of this scale, where participants, organisers, partners and audiences depend on realtime communication, connectivity was not merely a convenience; it was a critical component of the event’s success.
The 702 Walk the Talk: Jozi My Jozi returned in 2026 as a powerful celebration of community spirit, resilience and Johannesburg’s urban renewal.
Starting and finishing at the historic Ellis Park, the routes invited participants to experience the city on foot while supporting a greater purpose: helping people in need on the streets of Johannesburg.
That purpose was evident beyond the route itself.

CONNECTED FOR A GOOD CAUSE, THANKS TO NET NINE NINE!
Goody bags were distributed to hundreds of runners and walkers who braved the cold winter weather to take part in the Jozi My Jozi event.
The gesture added warmth to the experience and reflected the event’s broader message of generosity, dignity and shared responsibility.
For Net Nine Nine, the sponsorship demonstrated how connectivity can serve communities in practical and meaningful ways.
By helping keep Radio 702 live on air throughout the event, the company contributed not only to the operational success of the race, but also to the broader story of Johannesburg, its people, its streets and its commitment to uplifting those most in need.

UNITED TO HONOUR
WE HONOUR MADIBA, THE NET NINE NINE WAY!
BY LEBOHANG MOKHELE
Nelson Mandela left the world with a lasting legacy founded on compassion, service and the belief that sharing is caring.
Through his 67 years of fighting for human rights, social justice and the end of apartheid, the former statesman gave humanity an enduring example of selfless leadership that continues to inspire generations.
Honouring his legacy remains a commitment embraced by millions around the world.
One of the most meaningful ways people celebrate his life is by dedicating 67 minutes to acts of kindness on 18 July each year—Mandela’s birthday—in recognition of his 67 years of public service.
In 2026, Net Nine Nine embraced this call to action through an extensive Corporate Social Investment (CSI) campaign, extending a helping hand to communities across the eight provinces where the closed-access Fibre Network Operator (FNO) has built its network infrastructure.
The community outreach initiatives, aimed at promoting dignity, compassion and hope, were warmly received as employees stepped beyond their daily responsibilities to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people across the country.
From Gauteng to North West, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State and other provinces where the company operates, Net Nine Nine teams dedicated their time and resources to projects designed to uplift vulnerable individuals and strengthen local communities.
The programme included visits to hospices, schools, children’s homes, old-age homes and community organisations. Led by Regional Managers, employees donated essential items, assisted with cleaning and renovation projects, served meals, distributed blankets and clothing, and spent quality time engaging with beneficiaries.
Staff members also participated in environmental clean-up campaigns and other volunteer activities identified by local communities.
While every regional office developed initiatives tailored to the needs of its surrounding communities, each project was united by a common purpose: to create a lasting impact through service.
NET NINE NINE MANDELA DAY ACTIVITIES ACROSS MZANSI
• Ga-Rankuwa (Gauteng): Staff spent Mandela Day at the Ga-Rankuwa Sunshine Hospice, donating blankets and cleaning materials. Employees also rolled up their sleeves to clean windows, mop floors and create a cleaner, more welcoming environment for patients, staff and caregivers.
• Hammanskraal (Gauteng): In partnership with the Binang Foundation, Net Nine Nine visited the Odirile Centre in Temba, where an assortment of essential items, including blankets, was donated. Employees also washed clothing for the children living at the centre.
MANDELA’S LEGACY!
• Hebron (North West): Working alongside the North West Department of Social Development and the North West Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Net Nine Nine spent the day at the Lethabong Care Centre in Itsoseng Section. Elderly residents participated in sporting activities before enjoying warm bowls of soup served by volunteers.
• Krugersdorp (Gauteng): The Kagiso Region adopted Hoërskool Jan de Klerk through a R10,000 school adoption programme aimed at improving the school environment, inspiring learners and recognising academic excellence.
• Thaba Nchu (Free State): Employees participated in several community initiatives where sport formed the centrepiece of the celebrations. Net Nine Nine supported the DJ Zondi Charity Drive and the Jungle Bells initiative, during which toys were donated to children.
• Witbank (Mpumalanga): Residents of the Delpark Old Age Home received boiling-water urns and warm blankets to help keep them comfortable during the winter season.
• Musina (Limpopo): The Musina Children Resource Centre received children’s chairs, children’s tables, folding tables, adult chairs, plates and cutlery, helping to improve the centre’s facilities for both children and caregivers.
• Empangeni (KwaZulu-Natal): Net Nine Nine engaged with Grade 12 learners at schools connected to its fibre network. Employees assisted learners with their NSFAS applications, equipping them with the information and support needed to access higher education opportunities.

USE WINTER FIRES RESPONSIBLY TO HELP PROTECT YOUR COMMUNITY

Winter in South Africa often brings freezing temperatures, and for many families, lighting a fire is an essential way to stay warm, cook meals or gather together during the colder months.
However, the dry winter season also brings an increased risk of veld fires. Some fires are started intentionally for legitimate purposes, while others may occur accidentally or even naturally under certain conditions. Regardless of how they begin, veld fires can spread rapidly when conditions are dry and windy.
This was recently demonstrated in Ga-Rankuwa, where a veld fire spread to Net Nine Nine’s infrastructure, burning utility poles and damaging fibre-optic cables. The incident resulted in connectivity disruptions for thousands of customers during the week of 9–11 July 2026.
Net Nine Nine encourages everyone to enjoy the warmth and benefits of winter fires responsibly. Taking simple precautions—such as never leaving a fire unattended, ensuring it is fully extinguished before leaving the area, and avoiding lighting fires during windy conditions—can help prevent unnecessary damage to surrounding communities and infrastructure.
Veld fires can damage both above-ground and underground fibre infrastructure. Aerial fibre cables are particularly vulnerable when utility poles or cables are exposed to intense heat or direct flames, while prolonged, high-intensity fires may also damage certain underground infrastructure in affected areas.

Reliable internet has become an essential service for many households, supporting education, employment, healthcare, businesses and communication with loved ones. Protecting network infrastructure helps keep communities connected when they need it most.
Residents can also play an important role in protecting the network. If you notice a veld fire burning near Net Nine Nine utility poles, fibre cables or other network infrastructure, please report it to your local emergency services and notify Net Nine Nine as soon as it is safe to do so. Early reporting can help minimise damage, reduce service interruptions and assist response teams in protecting critical infrastructure.
By working together and practising responsible fire safety, we can help reduce the impact of veld fires, protect our communities and preserve the infrastructure that keeps South Africa connected throughout the winter months.

NET NINE NINE’S FIBRE ROLLOUT REACHES WITHIN 20 KM OF ZIMBABWE

With its network now just 20 km from the Beitbridge Border Post and expansion advancing into the Western Cape, the company is fast becoming a truly national fibre network operator, connecting underserved communities while creating jobs and economic opportunities across South Africa.
For years, the phrase “from Cape to Musina” has symbolised the vast distance that stretches across South Africa.
Today, that expression is taking on a whole new meaning for Net Nine Nine as the company moves closer to realising its vision of connecting communities across the country.
As one of South Africa’s fastest-growing closedaccess fibre network operators, Net Nine Nine is transforming the digital landscape by bringing
affordable, high-speed internet to communities that have historically been underserved.
Our mission has always been simple: to ensure that quality internet access is not a privilege reserved for a few, but an opportunity available to everyone.
Another exciting milestone is now within reach, with network expansion progressing in the Western Cape as Net Nine Nine moves closer to establishing a presence in all nine provinces.
At the same time, in the country’s northernmost reaches, our network has expanded to within approximately 20 km of the Beitbridge Border Post in Musina, placing us on the doorstep of Zimbabwe. Musina has become a shining example of what is possible when communities are connected.
Hundreds of residents and businesses are already enjoying reliable, affordable fibre connectivity, giving families access to education, entrepreneurs access to digital markets, and communities access to opportunities that were once beyond reach.
Our journey in Limpopo continues to gather momentum following the successful launch of our network in Burgersfort, within the Greater Tubatse region. Fibre infrastructure continues to expand across Elim, Thohoyandou and Musina, while surrounding communities steadily join the growing Net Nine Nine network.
Every metre of fibre laid represents more than just infrastructure; it represents hope, progress and inclusion.
For too long, many South Africans have found themselves on the wrong side of the digital divide, paying more for slower connectivity or having no access at all. Net Nine Nine is committed to changing that by delivering dependable, affordable internet where it is needed most.
Beyond connectivity, our expansion is creating meaningful economic opportunities.

Across these regions alone, Net Nine Nine has become a significant local employer, creating approximately 120 sales positions, appointing 12 Store Coordinators to lead local operations, and establishing eight Team Leader positions to support our growing workforce.
Our impact extends even further as local small businesses become valuable partners in our growth journey.
Through opportunities as fibre installers, home-drop contractors and other network deployment service providers, SMMEs are playing a direct role in building the digital infrastructure that will serve their own communities for generations to come.
At Net Nine Nine, we believe that building a fibre network is about much more than laying cables underground. It is about connecting people to education, employment, healthcare, business opportunities and a better quality of life.
From the Western Cape to Musina, our footprint continues to grow.
From underserved communities to connected neighbourhoods, our purpose remains unchanged. Every connection we make strengthens South Africa’s digital future.
The journey is far from over, but one thing is certain: Net Nine Nine is connecting communities, creating opportunities and demonstrating that affordable fibre has a place in every South African community.

BRIDGING THE
NET NINE NINE HAILED AS A GAMECHANGER IN RUSTENBURG!

For many Batswana families in Rustenburg, whether Bakgatla ba Kgafela, Bakwena or Baphalane, living in Boitekong, Tlhabane and Moruleng, access to fast, unlimited and affordable internet was a dream that remained beyond their reach.
However, that dream is fast becoming a reality as Net Nine Nine, one of South Africa’s fastestgrowing internet service providers, expands its fibre network into communities that have historically been underserved by traditional providers, whose focus has largely been on leafy suburbs.
People living in the mining town say the arrival of Net Nine Nine has brought more than just an internet connection into their homes; it has opened doors to education, employment, business opportunities and a new way of participating in the digital economy.
Life in Rustenburg can be challenging, with mining remaining one of the area’s primary sources of employment, particularly in the platinum and chrome industries.
The dusty conditions associated with mining can affect wireless signals, making fibre an ideal connectivity solution. Whether installed underground in trenches or aerially, fibre provides a dedicated
connection to the end user and is not affected by airborne dust in the same way that some wireless technologies can be.
Before affordable unlimited internet became available, many residents depended heavily on expensive mobile data bundles, which cost them a small fortune.
For households with school-going children, job seekers and family members working from home, staying connected was often a financial burden, while unreliable connectivity created additional challenges.
Data had to be carefully rationed, and activities such as attending online classes, submitting job applications, downloading educational material or participating in virtual meetings could quickly become expensive and unreliable.
The expansion of Net Nine Nine into these communities is beginning to change that reality, with many residents saying their lives have improved. In addition, the affordable R379 starter package is making connectivity more accessible.
In homes across Boitekong, Tlhabane and Moruleng, learners can now access online learning material, conduct research and complete school assignments without constantly worrying about running out of data. The first step, however, is connecting to Net Nine Nine’s fibre network.
Young people looking for employment are able to search and apply for opportunities online, while professionals have greater freedom to work remotely from their own communities. With the rising cost of living and increasing fuel prices, reliable internet connectivity has become more important than ever.
Meanwhile, more than 100 enthusiastic young people gathered at a local church in Tlhabane on 14 and 15 July 2026 to attend fibre training, with the possibility of future employment by the fibre network operator.
DIGITAL DIVIDE
It is in moments like these that Net Nine Nine demonstrates its commitment to changing lives through job creation, and the response from communities where the network has been deployed has been overwhelmingly positive.
As has been the case throughout the modern digital era, reliable unlimited internet access has become an essential tool for job seekers, and this is what Net Nine Nine aims to provide to its customers.
Instead of limiting their applications to nearby employers or spending money travelling to submit documents, residents can now search for vacancies, prepare applications, submit CVs and attend online interviews from the comfort of their homes.
The impact is also being felt among professionals whose work allows them to operate remotely and who require reliable, high-speed internet to perform their daily duties.
Net Nine Nine’s reliable connectivity means customers no longer necessarily have to leave their communities to visit internet cafés in town. Instead, they can access the connectivity they need from the comfort of their own homes and participate fully in the modern workplace.
Small businesses and entrepreneurs are also benefiting from improved connectivity, particularly those in Moruleng and Boitekong, which have significant business potential.
For residents who once had to count every megabyte, unlimited connectivity is bringing something far greater than faster internet.
Local businesses can communicate with customers, promote their services on social media, receive enquiries and explore new markets beyond their immediate surroundings.
For Net Nine Nine, its expansion into Rustenburg’s surrounding communities forms part of a broader commitment to ensuring that township and rural communities are not left behind as South Africa becomes increasingly dependent on digital technology.

The closed-access network operator believes that affordable and reliable internet access should not be determined by a person’s postcode or economic background.
By extending fibre infrastructure into communities that have traditionally had limited connectivity options, Net Nine Nine aims to help create an environment in which residents have a fair opportunity to learn, work, build businesses and pursue their ambitions.
Demand is now extending beyond the communities where the network is currently being built, with interest reportedly emerging from another 32 villages under the leadership of Kgosi Nyalala Pilane and the Bakgatla ba Kgafela Traditional Authority, where communities are also eager to gain access to affordable, unlimited internet connectivity.
This growing demand reflects an increasing understanding that internet access is no longer simply about entertainment or social media. It has become an essential part of education, employment, entrepreneurship and everyday communication.

BUILDING STRONGER CONNECTIONS, ONE TEAM AT A TIME!
BY LEBOHANG MOKHELE
Behind every successful fibre installation, every satisfied customer and every milestone achieved is a team of passionate people working together with a shared vision.
At Net Nine Nine, South Africa’s most trusted fibre network operator, it has become the norm that while technology connects communities, it is the company’s people who make those connections meaningful.
By investing in employees and developing strong leaders, Net Nine Nine continues to build a culture of excellence that benefits both customers and the communities it serves.
With this commitment in mind, high-flying Mpumalanga Regional Manager William Ratladi recently treated his team of Sales Managers to a well-deserved leadership and team-building retreat at Pienaardam Leisure Resort in Middelburg.
Away from the demands of the workplace, the team participated in an intensive leadership development programme designed to strengthen collaboration, improve communication and equip them with the skills to lead with confidence, integrity and purpose.
The training encouraged open dialogue, critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving while providing an opportunity for the team to reflect on their shared goals and responsibilities.
By investing in the personal and professional growth of its leaders, Net Nine Nine continues to nurture a culture where empowered teams deliver exceptional customer service and create lasting value for the communities they serve.
The dedicated Ratladi believes leadership training
is about strengthening mindsets and encouraging managers to lead.
“As leaders, they play a vital role in shaping the culture of their teams, inspiring those around them and ensuring that we continue to deliver exceptional service to our customers,” Ratladi said at the Pienaardam event.
He believes investing in their personal and professional growth will build stronger leaders who will help drive the continued success of the Net Nine Nine brand “and the communities we serve”.
Set against the tranquil surroundings of the resort, the programme combined practical leadership sessions with engaging team-building activities that promoted trust, collaboration and effective communication.
Every challenge reinforced an important lesson –lasting success is achieved not through individual effort alone, but through teamwork, mutual support and a shared commitment to excellence.
The retreat was far more than a welcome break from the daily routine, as it provided an opportunity for colleagues to reconnect, according to Sales Manager Zikhokhile Khumalo.
He added that the training had helped them tremendously: “We have gained valuable managerial skills that we can immediately apply within our sales teams. It has given us a fresh perspective on leadership, effective communication and how to motivate our teams to achieve even greater results.
“Most importantly, it reminded us that great leadership is about empowering others, working together and embracing continuous learning so that we can deliver the very best service to our customers and communities.”

I had a technical issue with the internet, but Mr. Mandla who was my assistant agent saved the day... I would pay for people like him. He helped me with the issue in less than 15 minutes so proud we still have people like him. Mr. Mandela as they say give that man a bell’s. You deserve it... I would recommend net 99 to other people because technical support was 100% supportive. He called me several times to see if the problem I had was sorted in less than a blink of an eye.
