NET99 UPGRADES YOUR INTERNET EXPERIENCE!

MATRIC CLASS OF 2026,

THE FUTURE IS YOURS!

Over the years, we have seen encouraging improvements in academic performance across many of the schools we have connected with the free 1Gig speed line. While we recognise that results depend on several factors, including the dedication of teachers, learners, parents and school management, we are proud to play a part in creating an environment where information is more accessible. There is something incredibly satisfying about a learner being able to research a difficult subject, watch an educational video or access additional learning material without the anxiety of watching their data balance disappear.

Dr Nicholas Thipe

As the Class of 2026 navigates one of the most important chapters of its academic journey, myself, Dr Nicholus Boas Thipe, would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of Net Nine Nine, to wish every matric learner the very best of luck with their final examinations. I say, go out there and make yourselves, your families and South Africa proud - your future matters, and we are rooting for you. We know that this period comes with pressure, long nights, sacrifices and, sometimes, uncertainty, but we also know that behind every examination paper is a young person with dreams, ambitions and the potential to contribute meaningfully to the future of our country.

That is the difference connectivity can make. We are not merely using the often-repeated phrase “bridging the digital divide” because it sounds good in corporate presentations - we mean it. We have changed lives through connectivity, and we remain committed to doing even more to improve the lives of our people. As we approach the end of 2026, this is also a time for reflection. We must celebrate what we have achieved, acknowledge where we have fallen short and identify how we can do better. At Net Nine Nine, there is still much work to be done to ensure that more communities, schools and households benefit from meaningful internet access.

At Net Nine Nine, we believe that access to the internet is more than just a convenience but a powerful educational tool that can change lives.

One development that genuinely makes me proud is seeing people enjoy live Test cricket at St George’s Park in Gqeberha without constantly worrying about data consumption or the dreaded buffering wheel interrupting their experience.

Throughout the year, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that schools at different levels have access to free internet connectivity, giving learners and educators opportunities to explore, research, learn and grow without constantly worrying about running out of data.

The ability to stay connected and enjoy content without unnecessary interruptions is part of the digital experience we want more South Africans to enjoy. To our matric learners, however, the biggest test right now is in the examination room.

We’ve donated computer labs, laptops to educators, and many other educational programs that we have embarked on in 2026.

From all of us at Net Nine Nine, we look forward to welcoming you into January 2027 with your matric certificates and stories of success. We want to celebrate your achievements with you.

NET99 CUSTOMER THRILLED BY SPEED UPGRADE An excited Net Nine Nine customer from Bekkersdal is celebrating a faster, more reliable internet experience after the fibre network operator upgraded the speeds available to its clients on 15 October 2026, giving households more room to connect, browse and enjoy the internet. Diketso Tshepe, who has been a Net Nine Nine customer for the past 2 years, talks about her positive relationship with the closed-access fibre network company since joining its network. Following the recent speed improvements, she believes the upgraded service has taken her internet experience to another level. Speaking to Net99 Media, Tshepe said she initially subscribed to the Choko package (20/10Mbps), which could accommodate approximately five connected devices. She began noticing an improvement in her internet speed before receiving communication from the company about the upgrade to all products, a great sign that upgraded speed adds value to her service. The new Choko package offers speeds of up to 30/30Mbps, compared with the 20/10Mbps service she previously had, and is designed to accommodate approximately eight connected devices. For Tshepe, the upgrade is particularly exciting because of the number of people who use the internet at her home. Data N

“We are seven at home, but when my cousins and other relatives come, then we can always connect them online,” she said.

people, with more mordern devices while enjoying a better internet service especially family members and devices while enjoying a better internet experience. She is more than pleased with the migration to Choko Ultra package.

With more devices competing for bandwidth in a single household, faster internet speeds can help users enjoy a smoother online experience, particularly when several people are connected simultaneously. Tshepe said she was happy with the improvements and encouraged other households to consider joining the network operator. “My recommendation is that people must join Net Nine Nine. I’ve moved packages, which is the best service. Call Net Nine Nine for a seamless service, then they connect you to the best service. I am happy,” Her testimony comes as Net99 continues to position its upgraded fibre packages as an opportunity for customers to get more out of their home internet connections. For customers such as Tshepe, the upgrade is not simply about numbers on a speed test at home but being able to connect more Page 4

LIGHTING UP UNLOCKING TWEEFONTEIN’S YOUTH POTENTIAL! For decades, the sprawling residential township of Tweefontein has stood as a critical cultural anchor within the Thembisile Hani Local Municipality, and its landscape is about to change for the better - guaranteed. Situated near KwaMhlanga in Mpumalanga, this expansive area that is divided into village sections stretching from A to N, is deeply woven into the historical and cultural heartland of the Ndebele people. Yet, despite its rich heritage and massive geographic footprint, Tweefontein’s position on the socio-economic outskirts has often left its residents, particularly its vibrant youth, sidelined from the rapid advancements of the modern digital economy. Historically under-resourced, the community has relied on local hubs like internet café’ to access connection, or the inconsistent ones supplied by government to schools. However, as the world transitions entirely online, a new, invisible barrier has emerged - digital inequality, and for the thousands of young people living across Tweefontein, the lack of reliable, affordable broadband has long been a roadblock to achieving their dreams.

Living on the outskirts of major economic hubs means that Tweefontein’s youth face unique challenges with traditional mobile data notoriously expensive, capped, and unstable, forcing young minds to choose between buying bread or purchasing a few megabytes of data to apply for jobs or study. In an era where tertiary education, remote work, entrepreneurship, and global communication depend entirely on a stable internet connection, Tweefontein was still reliant on an unstable internet connection. Without high-speed connectivity, local educational institutes and the eager minds that occupy them are placed at a significant disadvantage compared to their urban peers. The youth of Tweefontein do not lack ambition or skills but are handicapped without the required digital infrastructure required to compete with the modern world. Recognising this critical need, townshipfocused internet service provider Net Nine Nine has begun aggressively building fibre infrastructure directly within the area, and

Page 6

THE OUTSKIRTS! this brings with it job opportunities, SMME’s empowerment, and local businesses benefiting. By rolling out uncapped, high-speed fibre networks with no lock-in contracts, Net Nine Nine is working to shift internet access from a luxury into a basic utility for the community. With the establishment of local presence and physical customer service points, including their nearby network footprint in KwaMhlanga, infrastructure providers are bringing the digital frontier directly to Tweefontein’s doorstep . Mid-October, Net99 hosted a youth employment recruitment driver at the His Will Trinity Ministries in Kwa-Madzeke Block K where over 100 people attended the training with the potential to get employment. Ward Councillor, Richard Bongani Jiyane, admitted that this was a well calculated

From now onward, Tweefontein students can seamlessly stream online lectures, download text materials, and access research portals without worrying about data depletion. “Uncapped internet allows young entrepreneurs to launch digital businesses, offer freelance services online, and apply for remote employment opportunities across South Africa,” quipped Lybon Mashimbye, Net99’s North West Regional Manager. The Ndebele heartland is rich with art, culture, and storytellers, and the high-speed fibre gives local creatives the upload speeds needed to share their content, music, and heritage on global digital platforms. Said Mashimbye: “By laying down physical fibre optic cables beneath the soil of Tweefontein, the infrastructure being built is doing much more than connecting routers. It is dismantling the tyranny of distance, ensuring that being on the outskirts geographically no longer means being left behind economically. “Seeing happy faces of these youth interested in being a part of Net99 fulfills my heart. Our youth need employment, and Net99 being here brings about the change needed.”

exercise that will bring change and empower locals running businesses that rely on stable internet connection. Jiyane, who was also part of the proceedings on the day, said the arrival of Net99, bringing along reliable fibre internet, is a gamechanger for the dreams and aspirations of the local youth. Page 7

With more devices connected to the internet than ever before, having sufficient bandwidth is

•

The Choko package, priced at R389 per month, offers symmetrical speeds of 30/30Mbps, making it a suitable option for households seeking affordable fibre connectivity for everyday internet activities.

•

For customers who need more speed and flexibility, the 5-Tiga package, at R499 per month, delivers 120/120Mbps. This package is designed for households with multiple users who regularly stream content, attend online meetings, download files and access digital learning platforms simultaneously.

•

Meanwhile, the Klipa package, priced at R699 per month, provides impressive symmetrical speeds of 200/200Mbps. It is ideal for heavier internet users, larger households and customers who want greater capacity for demanding online activities.

The symmetrical speeds mean customers can benefit from comparable download and upload performance, an important advantage for video calls, uploading files, content creation and other online tasks. Net99 believes that improved internet speeds should translate into a better digital experience, enabling customers to make the most of the opportunities offered by the connected world. Customers are encouraged to contact Net99 to confirm their current package, explore the available upgrades and choose the option that best suits their household’s connectivity needs.
