HEROIC NET NINE NINE SILVER BULLET HITS TARGET!

Welcome to the first edition of our monthly “Be a Hero” newsletter.

This is one of the many innovations that will come your way, as we add another communication channel to be in line with the 4IR (fourth industrial revolution) between ourselves and you, our valued stakeholder.

This edition is inspired by the loyalty that you’ve shown to our brand, Net Nine Nine, and your association with us is well noted and appreciated.

April is the month of freedom, hence we commemorate Freedom Day on 27 April. The day brings back memories of 1994 when all South Africans went to the polls to democratically vote for the government of their choice. And, 30 years on, South Africa still enjoys her freedom.

At Net Nine Nine we believe in setting our people free from the chains of stagnation. Being unable to connect to the internet due to the exorbitant data costs is unacceptable and should be condemned in the strongest possible way.

We can boldly and bullishly say: We’re the best internet service provider in South Africa!

Internet is a necessity in this neck of the woods, and on this day and age, every household deserves to have Fibre Internet installed for free, hence we’re offering our clients the lowest subscription cost ever, starting from R379.

Indeed, Net Nine Nine remains the most affordable internet service provider by far in South Africa, and still delivering the most consistent connection with mahala installation. There’s no provider that can do this better than us. We’ve just introduced the ground-breaking pay-as-you-go Fibre Internet in Hammaskraal where you pay according to your needs.

This will set the cat among pigeons and many will fall by the wayside, as it’s a brilliant concept that we initiated in consideration that our people are struggling to make ends meet, and we as an ISP must meet them half way.

Our shining light is all over the Free State (Phuthaditjhaba, Rocklands and Thabong), Gauteng (Kagiso, Simunye, Bekkersdal, Westonaria, GaRankuwa, Hammaskraal) and Mpumalanga in KwaGuqa, Mhluzi where we’ve rolled out fibre and people are basking in the glory of Net Nine Nine.

Net Nine Nine has joined the Concerned Parents Campaigns (CPC) in spreading the word against drug abuse this freedom day 27th April 2024.

On this day, we will host the CPC-Diski99 “Say NO to Drug Abuse” at the Dr Petrus Rantlai Molemela Stadium where our football legends from Gauteng and in the Free State will compete for honours, all in the effort to spread word against the use of illegal substances. Check our social media pages for more information and all the legends that will be taking part, and how to join us.

“Our future leaders are drowning and vanishing under the influence of all these lethal drugs, and it takes companies like CPC and Net Nine Nine to speak up.

I hope you’re excited too about this first edition of “Be a Hero” – looking forward to our next issue at the end of May.

Please enjoy the read.

LEGENDS ‘SAY NO TO DRUGS’

Celtic and Gauteng Legends join CPC & Diski99 to fight scourge

In our quest to play a pivotal role in curbing the scourge of drug abuse in the country, Net Nine Nine in collaboration with the Concerned Parents campaigns (CPC) have arranged a blockbuster of soccer fixtures to raise awareness of this pandemic that left South Africa hot under the collar.

All eyes on Freedom Day, 27 April will be on the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium, Bloemfontein, Free State where activities are lined up to raise awareness about the drug abuse in an event themed CPC-Diski99 “Say No to Drugs” campaign. Football legends comprising Josta Dladla, Lebohang “Cheeseboy” Mokoena, Tso Vilakazi, William Okpara, Tebogo Moloi and Abednego Netshiozwi are among the Gauteng Legends who vie for top honours with Celtic Legends who are based in Bloemfontein.

Added to the Gauteng Legends are Tonic Chabalala, Japie Motale, Happy Jele, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Jabu Mahlangu, Katlego Mashego and Joseph Ngake. Though the list subject to change, the Celtic Legends Khulu Khabo, Kleinbooi Taaibos, Patrick Setai, Khumbulane Konco, Thembile Kanono, David Modise, Cecil Oersen, Daniel Matsau, Aaron Lepele and Jeffrey Legetla.

According to a Addiction Science and Clinical Practice research, 47% of teenagers 15 years and older are ivolved with substance abuse. “Although demographic data on SU are limited in South Africa, nationally 10.3% of the adult population (15 years and older) are estimated to consume alcohol at harmful levels (16.5% of men and 4.6% of women) and 8.6% (13.3% of men and 4.1% of women) are estimated to use illicit drugs.”

It’s so serious is the drug abuse in South Africa that most youth drop out of school due to an assortment of drugs that have invaded the country. Speaking to retired hero footballer, Josta Dladla, who plied his trade with Moroka Swallows, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, said the youth should be spending their time and money on upskilling themselves rather than on drugs.

“These days we have internet service providers like Net Nine Nine who offer affordable rates, unlimited data,” said Dladla who has joined the growing trend of former players hosting podcast. “I’m enjoying my podcasts a lot, and listeners need data to be part of it. This is a good concept by Net Nine Nine and CPC to spread the word about drugs. It’s upsetting watching at the manner in which our youth is drowning in drugs.”

Cheeseboy, who has been a marvel to watch at Swallows and the national Under-23s during his heydays, admitted that drugs are a serious concern, and more of such campaigns will catch one or two youth to stop.

“I grew up in Diepkloof and I’m seeing it everyday on what this pandemic is doing to our brothers. Football has made me travel across the country, and I see what impact it is having on our youth. These guys wake up to hang out on street corners and smoke their thing. Earmarked to be the

LIVING IN COLOUR OF HOPE!

In among hordes of community projects that we have been involved in, the Living in Color Disability Awareness drive tops the list.

People living with disabilities are not only equally deserving of humanitarian rights and online access to information from the public.

At Net Nine Nine, we’ve partnered with Living in Color where we do great community service by inviting our clients to show some love & create awareness for people living with disabilities.

Not only that, but Net99 staff has also opened up their hearts in sharing the love with our the community of Kagiso.

Living in Color, pioneered by a 17-yearold from Kagiso, Krugersdorp, who has embraced a muscular disorder, Katlego ‘Kaygee’ Mhlaba Motlamelle, always flanked by his mother, Nomsa Motlamelle, is the community’s favourite pioneer.

Katlego started this campaign with the vision to raise awareness of different disabilities and inequality in the township of Kagiso, as well as advocating for the liberation of the disabled.

In support of those living with disabilities, Net Nine Nine collected donations for those in need and unlocked infinite opportunities. In addition Net Nine Nine has connected Katlego to a Net Nine Nine fibre connection to resume his schooling from home.

We wish you the best of luck Katlego!

Net Nine Nine brings sunshine to people living with disability.

On 21 March 2024, which is also observed as Human Rights Day in South Africa, the Net99 Store in Kagiso Mall was abuzz with activity after civilians opened up their hearts by donating wheelchairs and crutches that were distributed to the community through Living in Color.

Our Netniner (Marketing Manager), Shanai Pillay, whose granny is also reliant on a wheelchair, donated the four-wheeler to Living in Color, as well as crutches and walkers that were prevously used by her grandmother.

“It was heartwarming to see the reception from the participants, as well as the dance choir that left spectators salivating for more.

All this was emotional for me, it also raised awareness of the gender based violence (GBV) in communities. I’m grateful to Net Nine Nine for the generosity and being the best Fibre Internet company in South Africa. This is our second year, and I believe we can do more in years to come,” said Pillay from the Net Nine Nine Headquarters in Johannesburg

Kagiso’s Mandisa Shiceka School of Specialisation are among beneficiaries of Net Nine Nine’s free Fibre Internet. The Township enjoy affordable fibre Internet available in their homes!

Just a decade ago, Unlimited Internet was just a pipedream for many South Africans!

Surfing online in the middle of a township or village was completely unattainable or fanciful.

Today, previously disadvantaged communities of Ga-Rankuwa, Hammaskraal, Kagiso, Phuthaditjhaba, Thabong, Mhluzi, Mangaung, Westonaria and Kwa-Guqa, are basking in the glory of a high speed internet connection at an affordable price.

Page 8

It gets better too: communities’ public schools are given a high speed connection, mahala, allowing kids and educators access to the internet resources needed to create high quality lessons and classes.

It is the reality that in South Africa, internet is a necessity. Every learner in the country deserves to be connected online to realise their respective goals, but most importantly is for schoolwork, surfing for job opportunities for teenagers and browsing the net for work-related assignments for adults.

Net Nine Nine, priding itself with “Be a hero, get connected” pay off line, has taken the responsibility to connect every household in the country, at a reasonable and affordable price.

The latest addition to the Net Nine Nine family was the installation of homes in Mandela Village and Rens Town, Hammaskraal a fortnight ago, which followed hot on the heels of Ga-Rankuwa, Kwaguqa, and many others, including communities in Bloemfontein in the Free State, and many others who are currently enjoying the fastest internet service.

The exciting news about the Hammaskraal package is that their connection is custom made as Pay-asyou-Go/ Pre-paid solution, as far as we are aware, this is the only Fibre Internet company to offers such a service where there’s no subscription, but you still are able to enjoy the fastest speed in this neck of the woods.

Net Nine Nine ensures schools are connected mahala to ensure their computer labs are fully connected and functional – anyway, what’s a computer centre without internet? This is where Net Nine Nine jumped

It has been an illusory for any school principal in the townships and villages thinking they would have Fibre Internet zooming at a highspeed in their classroom – a high-speed fibre network service that offers reliable connectivity, secure data transmission, and enhanced network performance.

The infrastructure is bringing about transformative changes in areas that were previously constrained by expensive and limited mobile data.

Net Nine Nine has been every communities’ Fibre Internet friend, sponsoring an array of township programmes from sports, arts and culture.

Net Nine Nine founding members, chief executive Albert Oosthuysen and Chief of Staff, Nicholas Thipe, have invested a lot in ensuring black excellence becomes a reality, and equips South Africans with the tools that they need in order to achieve their dreams, and inspire those around them to do the same.

NET NINE NINE | New Area plan and build process

The objective of NetNineNine is to provide internet services to the people of South Africa, whom previously did not have access to these services.

Areas are identified in one of two ways:

1. Identified by the network planning department through research studies.

2. Areas proposed by third party contractors that are looking to be connected.

Once an area has been identified by either of the methods above, a feasibility study is done on the area using data provided to us by census and various other information centres dealing with collecting, analysing and storing of the various demographic data across South Africa.

Specific benchmarks relating to income and access to utilities such as cell phones and satellite TV have been pre-determined by our team to determine the feasibility of rolling out an optic fibre network in a specific area. Should an area satisfy the minimum requirements of the feasibility study, it is shortlisted and ranked based on the which areas have the most appetite for fibre internet services.

Further on the ground research follows the study, to confirm the findings and to engage directly with the municipalities and communities themselves to understand the needs of the community related to internet services and to indicate the advantages of allowing us, as Net Nine Nine, to provide these services to the community.

Once the ground work has been completed, and all the necessary permissions have been granted, the various stakeholders, the planned rollout for the fibre build will commence.

Planning of the fibre network is a lengthy process and is carefully drawn out by the network planning team, to ensure maximum utilisation of the at lowest possible cost. The build process can take up to 6 months to complete depending on the size of the area being built and the method of build allowed by the municipality and community.

Once the build has been completed and all the necessary equipment has been installed, an area is deemed Live Clients can order their fibre to the home services and connect effortlessly to the internet. – Akash Saran, Net Nine Nine Head of Planning

Thato Makeka

I arrived late at Net Nine Nine, they were already closed but did an exception to assist me because they understood my reasoning.

The time I arrived at my place I was already connected.

Sfiso M

First of all I was sceptical when I went to their office, because it very the busy and mind you I went on a Tuesday morning paid everything then they told me they will call to make installation arrangements, later during the day I got the call like they said & got an appointment for Friday @ 16:00.

I didn’t mind the wait because I did it right after Easter weekend so it’s Friday today the guys came around 13:35 way earlier but greatly appreciated on my side didn’t take them long and all that was left was for the line to be activated which they said should take about 24 - 48 hours but to praise their customer service the activation was done around 19:40 same day.

So in conclusion I will highly recommend them to anyone who wants affordable internet given that they are available in your area.
