Kensington is where American families actually move to live and the rare part of the city that actually delivers it. Grand stucco villas and red-brick mansion houses sit on wide, tree-lined streets that feel calm and residential despite being minutes from the centre. Holland Park, with its Kyoto Garden and wandering peacocks, is the local park; Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park complete the green frame. Weekends belong to the Museum Quarter, the V&A, the Natural History Museum, the Royal Albert Hall while Kensington High Street handles the everyday. The school run defines the rhythm of the neighbourhood which is why generations of international families put down roots and rarely leave. It's civilised, secure, unhurried district for Americans who are moving to London to live there, not just to own an address. And with the Piccadilly line running straight to Heathrow, home remains one direct train away.

St John's Wood is the closest London comes to an American suburb with its low-built white villas and wide, leafy avenues, detached houses, sizeable gardens, driveways, the suburban comfort of home, ten minutes from the West End. At its heart sits the American School in London, which makes the neighbourhood the natural landing place for relocating families, children keep their US curriculum, and an entire ready-made American community comes with it. Regent's Park is the back garden while Lord's Cricket Ground and the Abbey Road crossing add the local history. The high street does the village thing properly: cafés, delis, boutiques, and a pace that's noticeably gentler than central London. Mayfair holds a unique pull for American buyers that no other London district can match. Grosvenor Square was "Little America" for nearly a century being home to the US Embassy until 2018, Eisenhower's wartime headquarters, and the residence of John Adams, America's first envoy to the the UK. Marylebone is one of the top three most-requested London addresses among American buyers and for good reason.
