Can You Believe What You Hear?

I remember the first time I heard the voices of spirits. It scared me! I was around seven years old. It was a late hot summer night. I slept with my bedroom window open as my family didn’t have air conditioning in the 1960s. I woke up to loud voices. At first, I thought it was my brothers talking. As I came fully awake, the voices lowered to a loud whisper. I laid there trying to discern where the voices were coming from and what they were saying. I realized the voices were coming from outside my window. Who was outside my window? I got up to peek at who was outside, but there was no one there. I reached up and slammed the window shut. I ran and dove into my bed, pulling up the covers over my head to hide.
I had no idea what hearing those voices meant. Since I couldn’t see a real person or recognize those voices as someone I knew, how could I share that experience? Even growing up in a traditional Native American home did not allow me the leeway for this sharing. I even felt uneasy saying anything to
my mother about the voices I heard that night. It took me a very long time to learn what “hearing” voices meant. I didn’t know that others also heard the voice of spirit. I thought having intuition meant you had to be clairvoyant, to “see” spirit. On occasion, I would see images of places and people like looking through a camera

lens or a window. When I tried to see the image more clearly or got excited that I saw something, the camera lens or window would close. I spent years honing my clairvoyant ability with little satisfaction. At the same time, my “hearing” spirit became clearer and more understandable. Much later in my spiritual studies, I learned that clairaudience was a more sacred feminine way of receiving

spiritual information while clairvoyance came from the sacred masculine side. As I aged, I began to embrace my clairaudient gift rather than change the way spirit gave me information. I finally relaxed into receiving it! Once I relaxed, I found that is when my clairvoyant gift also came more into focus. At that time, I realized that all the “clairs” were available to me in different degrees. Now, when my Spiritual Team (my guides, guardians, teachers, allies, power animals, totems, nature spirits, ancestors, and star beings who work with me) speaks to me, I hear them clearly as if a human being is standing or sitting next to me having a conversation. There are times when I have heard a voice behind or next to me while doing mundane things. Sometimes in the wee hours of the morning, I am awakened to hear Native American drumming and singing. What does hearing voices mean? My rule of thumb is those in spirit, speaking to me, are kind and helpful. If I hear a spirit that is less than kind, offering something through fear, I know this is not one of my Spiritual Team members. I then ask my Spiritual Team to escort the intruder away. This discerning has helped me to establish a good boundary with spirit.
In this issue of Star Nations Magazine, we have articles about Labor Day, Clairaudience, Equinox, Mabon, Rosh Hashanah, Native American Day, Yom Kippur, and Oktoberfest. every day, twice a day. Being grounded, centered, and protected was the best way to discern that the assistance spirit was offering me was for my highest good. I consciously activated my MerKaBa in 2001 and it became permanent in 2002. My MerKaBa, my ascension vehicle, became my most important tool and ally for my spiritual growth. The MerKaBa has five layers of light and is impervious. Any
energy coming through my MerKaBa is meant for my highest good and my soul growth. This knowledge aids me in my discernment and allows me to relax to receive spiritual information. Accepting and remembering how to rely on my clairaudience as a gift is an important spiritual tool that took me years. The life lessons included in remembering how to use clairaudience intuition are some of my most profound periods of soul growth. I have included a video about clairaudience for you.
