Jack Burford Chevrolet HONORING A LEGACY WHILE DRIVING TOWARD THE FUTURE
FOR MORE THAN SIX DECADES,
Jack Burford Chevrolet has been more than a place to buy a vehicle. It's a family-owned business that has proudly served Madison County by growing with the community and treating every customer with the same honesty and respect that have defined the dealership from the beginning. That philosophy began with Jack Burford, whose reputation for integrity became the foundation of the dealership. He taught his team and eventually his children, John Burford and Cathy Cornelison, that every customer deserved respect, every handshake should mean something, and every opportunity to serve the community should be embraced. Although Jack passed away in 2013, his legacy is still evident throughout the dealership. His name on the building represents more than a family business, it reflects a culture built on trust, accountability, and always choosing to do the right thing. Today, that legacy continues under the leadership of Jack's son, John
4
Burford, who proudly became the dealer in 1997. After learning every aspect of the business, John carried forward the values his father established while guiding the dealership through decades of growth, facility expansions, and an automotive industry transformed by new technology and changing customer expectations. Through every challenge, from economic downturns to industry shifts and personal loss, the dealership has continued moving forward without losing sight of what matters most: people. Every member of the Jack Burford Chevrolet team has played a role in shaping the dealership's story. While many familiar faces have dedicated decades of service to the business, new team members continue to bring fresh perspectives and enthusiasm. Together, they drive the dealership confidently into the future. That sense of continuity has become one of Jack Burford Chevrolet's greatest strengths. While vehicles continue to evolve with advanced safety features, electric technology, and digital conveniences, the dealership believes exceptional customer service will always be timeless. The future of Jack Burford Chevrolet is already taking shape with the third generation of the Burford family. John’s daughters, Makenzie and Mallory Burford, have joined the dealership full time, and his youngest daughter, Marley, supports the team part time. Together, they bring fresh ideas and new perspectives while honoring the values that have defined the business since its founding. Their involvement represents more than family succession, it demonstrates a long-term commitment to remaining locally owned and serving the Richmond community for generations to come.
B ESTO F M A DI S O N COUN T Y.COM
Just as important as the family's leadership is the team that stands behind the dealership every day. From sales and service to finance and administration, Jack Burford Chevrolet is powered by dedicated employees who share a commitment to putting customers first. Together, they have created a culture where relationships matter, employees are valued, and customers are treated like neighbors. Jack Burford Chevrolet continues to build on its legacy by pairing exceptional customer service with modern convenience. Customers can enjoy mobile service for routine maintenance at their home or work, a complimentary shuttle, and flexible contract signing through the dealership's concierge service, making it possible to purchase a vehicle without ever visiting the dealership. These innovations reflect the "Burford Way," a customerfirst philosophy established by Jack Burford and built on honesty, respect, and exceptional service. Today, John Burford remains committed to upholding these principles as a guiding priority. That balance of tradition and progress has allowed Jack Burford Chevrolet to remain one of Central Kentucky's most respected dealerships. More than six decades after the Burford family first arrived in Richmond, the dealership continues to build on the values that made it successful in the first place. Jack Burford's name remains on the sign, but his greatest legacy is found in the people who carry his vision forward every day. With an outstanding team, loyal customers, and a new generation stepping into leadership, Jack Burford Chevrolet is not simply preserving its history, it is writing its next chapter.
