“It’s truly a place where I feel at home,” shares Anna Dello Stritto who attended Lucky Star from the time it opened until she graduated in June. “I’m leaving for college soon, but I know I’ll always be part of the studio family and will come back to visit and to teach, just like our other alumni have.” Dello Stritto will pursue a BFA in dance and credits Clemente with helping her gain acceptance into several college dance programs.
Clemente also credits her success to the high level of respect she shows toward families by working to provide timely and thorough information throughout the year. Although it might seem like a small thing, she says it makes a big difference in customer relationships. “I work

tanic Gardens is beautifully manicured, many do not realize the Arboretum at Penn State spans close to 370 acres. Campus discussions for an Arboretum began in 1914, but it was not until 2007 when Charles H. “Skip” Smith (1926-2024) came forward with a $10 million endowment gift that its construction began.
Today, the Arboretum at Penn State is a place where “we welcome more than 250,000 visitors per year filled with delight and wonder at our natural beauty,” says Casey Sclar, the H.O. Smith Director of the Arboretum.

every day. As a part of Penn State Outreach, the Arboretum at Penn State fulfills our commitments to inspire discovery, prepare students, and serve Pennsylvania.”
“We’re a growing destination for the entire region.” Sclar says. “From pre-K to gray, The Arboretum attracts audiences of all ages with festivals, community events, educational programming or just the simple serenity of nature. We’re so thankful that this is recognized by our beloved community with this accolade.”
Open every day, there is a spirit that invites people to learn about plants and enjoy shared experiences. Staff and visitors are always looking forward to its Pumpkin Festival. This Oct. 12, more than 1000 pumpkins will again be given free to be carved and then
adorn the Oct. 17 and 18 festival filled with fun, food, and more. Plans are also underway for this year’s Winter Celebration on Dec. 12, another must-do holiday activity for families.
Throughout the entire year, self-guided or guided field trips occur on the grounds. The Arboretum provides resources to offset costs of visits for schoolchildren from underrepresented districts, ensuring an opportunity they may not have otherwise. This generosity is a hallmark of The Arboretum’s aspiration to give back to its community. Unbeknownst to many, The Arboretum at Penn State, despite its name, is almost fully sustained through contributions. It receives no student tuition or feebased funding from the university. Its operations are true endeavors of love, carried out by passionate team members who have built symbiotic relationships with the University

New gardens include the award-winning Pollinator and Bird Garden (2021), a unique blend of science, nature, art and technology. In 2024, the new Palmer Museum of Art at the Arboretum opened and that partnership has already taken root.

A place of respite, The Arboretum alleviates stress through its atmosphere and openness to the public, making every visit hassle free and attuned to the schedules of all guests. Throughout the summer, there are free drop-in youth and family programs on different topics. A family favorite is the Childhood’s Gate Children’s Garden, which has been open since 2015.
Welcoming all ages, The Arboretum at Penn State lives out the vision of its founding donor. Charles H. “Skip” Smith saw it as a place the plant kingdom can be appreciated by the young, elderly, and everyone in be tween. It continues to expand, with a completely reimagined Charles H. “Skip” Smith Fountain Garden soon to be constructed and a new Master Plan that will add new features, all in a future that honors the Arboretum’s original vision.
When it comes to excellence and convenience, clients of Energy Rehab Wellness and Training will never have to choose between the two. The practice offers the best mobile therapeutic services while also providing services in a traditional clinic setting. Mobile services give patients all aspects of outpatient care in the comfort of their own home or other locations as insurance allows.
The owners of Energy Rehab, Adam and Renee Frank, are Centre County natives and started the company a decade ago to meet the needs of their community. Adam states, “The idea of providing mobile therapy services was born to meet the needs of community members who could not travel to a local PT clinic. Whether it was because they couldn’t drive after a surgery or they had children at home they couldn’t leave, we found a way to get them the care they deserved. Now we have clients choosing mobile therapy services just because they prefer to receive their care in a more convenient location for them.”
The practice has grown to employ 18 clinicians who provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy services. Energy treats patients of all ages including infants. Services ] include general physical therapy and the specialty areas of sports rehab, pediatrics, vestibular rehab, pelvic floor therapy, neurological rehabilitation, geriatrics, and lymphedema services. Mobile services are provided in the Centre, Clinton, Clearfield, Blair, Huntington, and Mifflin Counties. The clinic practice is located in State College inside the Nittany Valley Sports Centre.
While being dedicated to serving their local community, the couple has been able to foster a family of highly trained and skilled practitioners. “We have been so lucky to find a team of hardworking, knowledgeable, and \ compassionate providers,” said Renee. “Every clinician strives to provide the best, most up-to date, and personalized care each visit.” Adam adds, “We feel we have the best therapists in the area. We search for a high caliber of talent and encourage them to continue to grow their clinical skills.”
Patients are provided oneon-one care with a specifically tailored treatment plan. “For us, it’s about helping people reach their goals! The rewards are big and small all day long as we watch our clients dig deep and work hard to get what they want and need out of their therapy,” Renee said.
Adam notes, “There is nothing better than watching someone learn to walk again, to be more independent, to return to work or a sport they love, or to live with less pain.”
