“Between the owners and our team, we bring decades of experience and expertise to each project,” said Troy Means, co-owner and manager of HomeCrafters. “We operate a very organized and process-oriented business with a tremendous amount of effort put forth towards the details of each project. We pride ourselves on the communication process between ourselves, our clients, and our subcontractor base.”
Troy started HomeCrafters at the age of 27, and establishing a reputation at such a young age was a challenge during the early years of business. In 2000, his brother Travis co partnered with Troy and the expansion of the company began. In the early 2000s, HomeCrafters diversified with two divisions focused on luxury custom homes and another on semi-custom subdivisions. This balance strengthened both their working and financial portfolios.
The company’s legacy runs deep: Troy and Travis are 3rd-generation Nevadans whose great-grandfather was
an architect, grandfather a structural engineer, and father a civil engineer, developer, and homebuilder. It was a natural progression for them to enter the profession after being exposed to its elements from childhood.
HomeCrafters survived the major housing crisis from 2009–2013, which saw a dramatic decrease in housing demand and clients. During that time, the firm created an opportunity to develop a housing project and large man camp in the Winnemucca area for a mining company. That project carried the company through the downturn and positioned it to take advantage of the housing recovery from 2015 to today. The business also weathered the challenges of the COVID-19 era.
Today, HomeCrafters stands as a diversified general contracting firm established in luxury custom homes, largescale remodels and additions, semi-custom subdivisions, commercial projects, and luxury townhome developments.
The business builds with details and touches that clients continue to appreciate years later. While craftsmanship is at the core, the passion begins long before nails are driven into wood or concrete is poured.
