Some Academic Tips
Take it easy
Follow a schedule
Starting university is daunting and at some point you might think that you are not working hard enough. Remember that university should also be enjoyed, therefore, try not to put too much pressure on yourself.
It is always useful to follow a schedule when it comes to academics. That way, you won't feel overwhelmed!
Take breaks
Ask for help
Sometimes taking a break is the most productive thing you can do! Taking mindful breaks can be just what you need to get yourself to focus again.
University is not child's play. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you are struggling. While you may feel awkward about it, asking for help will only benefit you.
Engage in lectures
It takes time
If you focus and engage in lectures, you significantly reduce the amount of work you will have to do come exam time.
Rome wasn't built in a day, and it definitely will take time to adjust to university, but you will get there eventually!
ROOMMATE Q&A
Basic chats What is your favourite sweet treat? What is your dream travel destination? If you weren't at university, what would you be doing? What will you miss most about home? Favourite song/ movie/ book? Do you have any siblings? Who is your role model? Why did you choose Stellies? Do you have any pets?
Practical chats Do you sleep with the light on or off?
Do you sleep with the window open or closed? Are you more of a night owl or early bird? What do we expect from each other as roommates? Where do you plan on studying?
