Nelson ratepayers who pay electronically may be forking out more than they need to be, while some people are getting away with paying less. Local resident and former ac-

CHRISTMAS TIME: Yvonne Robinson and Val McFadden get into the Christmas spirit, joining in the singing at this year’s Carols on the Green on Sunday. The event has been a popular event in the lead up to Christmas for many years now. Organised by the Broadgreen Society and held on the grounds just outside the historic house, the event featured music from the Nelson City Brass Band and a turnout of around 200 members of the public. Organisers say the event is all about thanking the public for their support over the year and celebrating Christmas. Donations made by the audience to enjoy Carols on the Green will be going towards the running the event, as well as Nelson Community Patrol. Photo: Jessie Johnston.
