Majority support Southern Link: It is excellent that Nelsons' roading is finally getting the discussion that was needed, it should not be about winners and losers but how to get the best outcome for Nelson City and the wider region. Change is never easy and I just hope we wait till we get to the end of the process before hothead groups head off with their little piece of the puzzle. Bill Dahlberg.

It's unnecessary. There are so many alternatives for people doing the commute (e.g. Push bike, motorbike, scooter, improving public transport). Not worth separating a community. Definitely not worth putting a road right next to two schools either. Cassandra Polosak.

Wish they'd just do it already! Nikole Berkett. Nelson needed this years ago, About bloody time. Terry Fuller. I bet most of those who support it live out of the city and drive in, in their "one person to a car" vehicles, and won't be the ones affected by the main road going through a community and schools. More roads equal more cars!!! Nelson does not have a congestion problem. It's a 10min issue on Waimea Rd which could easily be fixed by double laning or creating clearways during peak hours. Improve public transport!!! Look at how much traffic disappears when it's school holidays! Spending millions on a non-issue and destroying the environment for the sake of 10mins is irresponsible when there are more cost-effective and obvious solutions available. It will also just move the "congestion" to the Annesbrook roundabout, so the problem won't actually be
fixed. Arnie Raddock. Get it done. All the surrounding areas also have homes and schools, but don't bitch about it. The southern link is the only option that gives an extra road out of town, thereby decreasing traffic on other roads. Jeff Holden. Car still down bank three months on: Nelson L ve If he pays to have it removed - he'll Nelson L ve never get his money back - the police need to get it removed and then charge to owner or the driver, or if they don't come forward there must be some fund it can come out of - if it had crashed into another car they would have to have had it removed. Get it moved out onto the road, then walk away.....it's a council problem then! Rayon Mackenzie. Why don't they ring the wrecker and score money for it? Keri Williams. Hold up. Why the hell should this become someone else's responsibility? I can understand the frustration from the people who have to look at this eyesore, but responsibility falls on the ignorant lazy mindless t&^* who crashed it there! Sharon May Patterson. mother choose for the child not to be immunised, and watching the affects the mother went through, I'd say why not vaccinate your children? The guilt she had to carry, even the mother said I should have just done it! Annie Whall. Why have people lost faith in their bodies immune systems? Daniel Murphy. I would never not vaccinate my kids. There are so many out there without immune systems, why would you put them at risk too? Its not always about you, sometimes other children are just as important. Aleicia Humphries. A few weeks ago my niece (7 months pregnant) took her wee boy in to get his vaccine. They noted he was a bit snuffly so they re-booked for the following week. The wee boy had full -blown measles before he could get his pre-booked vaccine. Luckily, both mother and son came through this ok, but it was a scary time for them (and worrying for us). Yes, vaccination is needed. Susan Ruby Ruddell. Paul Ifill signs with Tasman United: Nelson L ve This is fantastic news!
