PRACTICAL MAGIC & COFFEE BREWS
I tend to mess around with things I have around the house (even things that might just be going to waste)
This one came to me while I was thinking about coffee grinds (again) I still take them in to the shower with me: not every day but once a week a good scrub with coffee grinds on damp skin feels fab, not so great cleaning the shower afterwards but totally worth it.
So here is the latest skin concoction have come up with.
Mash half a banana - the magnesium has an incredible brightening and antioxidant effect on the skin. Add the coffee grinds - for exfoliation and anti inflammatory properties. Last but not least a good glug of high quality olive oilnot only does is have amazing hydrating
qualities but it helps the coffee grinds slide around while you gently massage in circles on your face.
I guarantee that you will look like Mrs Doubtfire in the cake in the face incident so probably try to find a half hour 'me time' and leave this on your face for around 15 minutes.
Its also lovely on the back of your hands I gave some of this to Kelly Flood, our fab NE Love designer to try, and she loved it. There's really no reason to spend lots of money on fancy products, but please make sure that you have no allergies to any of the ingredients.

Rye is a female artist based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Her sound is shaped by her growing up in Vilnius, Lithuania, surrounded by experimental rock, underground electronic music and the evocative tradition of sung poetry. Rye explores her passion for languages by singing in English, her native Lithuanian, Spanish, and by integrating spoken word into her compositions.

I CERTAINLY HAVE NEVER BEEN UPSET BEING ACCUSED OF BEING A WITCH, IT SEEMS TO HAVE AQUIRED A KIND OF SEXY MYSTERIOUS VIBE RIGHT.? MAYBE THAT’S JUST ME?

As an accused witch, you could be tried in a church court, at quarter sessions (local courts), or at an assize court, where you could be condemned to death. The process, however, was similar at every level. Somebody would complain to the local justice of the peace (JP) that you had bewitched an animal, or a foodstuff, or a child. Whether or not the complaint is taken any further depends on how energetic the JP is and how much he believes in witchcraft.
Let’s suppose that an eager JP has put together a significant number of depositions – complaints in writing from your fellow villagers – and has also interrogated you, and got a confession from you. The next stage is that all this evidence is put to a jury, who decide whether to take it to trial or not.
At the trial, those who submitted written complaints will take the stand and give their evidence aloud and under oath. You, as the accused, will also take the stand and your confession will be read aloud. If you like, you can add to it, or deny that you said bits of it, but that might just make you look inconsistent. After that, the jury will decide on your guilt.

THIS BRIGHT RED COCKTAIL GETS ITS BLOODY COLOUR FROM POMEGRANATE JUICE, MIX WITH VERMOUTH AND GIN FOR A SCARILY GREAT COCKTAIL MADE PERFECT WITH A GARNISH OF FRESH BLACKBERRIES AND MINT.
Ingredients
7-8 ice cubes
15ml extra dry vermouth
75ml London dry gin
60ml pomegranate juice drink
FOR THE GARNISH
4 blackberries
1 tsp icing sugar a mint sprig
How to
Put 7-8 ice cubes in a cocktail shaker or medium-sized jug, add 15ml extra dry vermouth, stir about 20 times, then add 75ml London dry gin and 60ml pomegranate juice drink. Stir gently and strain into a Martini glass.
For the garnish, put 4 blackberries in a sieve. Use a fork to mash; push the pulp and juice through the holes into a bowl. Stir through 1 tsp icing sugar until dissolved. Drizzle around the rim of the glass. Slice into 3 blackberries and place on the side of the glass. Finish with a mint sprig.
