ONE FOOT IN THE RAVE

I/We recently had a big anniversary the likes of which I never thought I would see.

The big 30, Yes, it's been thirty years since we all met one night: young, sweaty, smiley and hopeful, on the dance floor at Sunderland’s now legendary Blue Monkey.

One night in the very early 90’s when the “I’m a VIP" card counted for nothing at all and you probably would have been embarrassed even to say it, I like thousands of others, across the UK and in fact the world, found our tribes.

The music scene was ablaze, Oh and so were we! Thousands of like minded people sharing a night time slightly naughty playground.

It's worth a mention also at this point, that there were no smart watches or mobiles, no need to spend hours arranging and rearranging, because you were obviously going be there, It was unthinkable that you wouldn’t show.

So picture the scene, you show up; you know 100% that your mates will too, in hindsight smart watches might have been fun if only to inform you that you had done half a million steps that weekend, no one I knew then (with the exception of the Destroy
