FROM THE OWNER Dear Home Buyers, Five years ago, we were you. My fiancé (now husband) and I scoured real estate websites and searched for a place to call ours. We found this house and began transforming it into the home you see today. These walls bared witnessed to our transition as well, from dating to DINK’s (dual income no kids) to parents. We are grateful for the familiarity, comfort, safety, and security this house and community provided us over the years and hope that it will be as good to you as it was to us.

There are so many familiar and comforting sights and sounds that will be missed; the mornings filled with the bustle of children waiting for the school bus, neighbors heading to work strolling to the metro bus stop, joggers waiving as they run by, and the familiar dogs out for their morning walk.

In the afternoon, children returning home from school or the sounds of pedaling bikes and giggles as the neighborhood kids ride to the pool, towels trailing behind. In the evenings, the impromptu gatherings filled with easy casual conversations as the kids serendipitously catching lightning bugs in the front yard. The calm serenity of sitting on the deck or patio enjoying our surroundings and letting the day dissolve. It is an oasis that we will sorely miss.

Aside from the home and community, we will greatly miss the “perks” of the neighborhood. Across the street is an absolute gem, The Hollin Hall Shopping Center. It houses some deliciously wonderful family-owned restaurants; Roseina’s (dinner-to-go was a weekly occurrence in our home), Via Veneto an Italian eatery, where you will still find the matriarch hosting and welcoming guests (we cannot get enough of their homemade lasagna), Hollin Hall Bakery for all your sweet treats, and River Bend Bistro for a bite and glass of wine. Not to mention the convenience of having Safeway across the street for all those last-minute recipes needs or lone forgotten ingredient! Restaurants are just the beginning; there are also family-owned stores like the Variety Store, which is a kind of throwback to the 1950’s five-and-dime (my son cannot get enough of their extensive toy selection), and Village Hardware, where the employees are knowledgeable, available and eager to help!
