The Potomac River and several wonderful parks great for running, biking, walking, and picnicing are located nearby.

Dear Prospective Buyer, Thank you for visiting our home. If you decide to purchase in the neighborhood you have chosen a wonderful community.

I grew up in Hollin Hall. Mom and Dad purchased one of the first homes built in Hollin Hall in the early 50’s when most of the land was still cornfields. They watched a close knit community grow as they watched us kids grow. As a child, I felt safe and protected and had great fun.

The Mount Vernon Park is located within walking distance. It is a membership park and contains 3 swimming pools, tennis courts, a lake and much more. Lots of community activities, fireworks and swim meets when I was growing up! You always did and still do, see kids and adults with towels and flip flops heading to the park.

Kevin and I appreciate the sense of security the neighborhood offers. It is a great “walking” neighborhood, wonderful neighbors and little traffic. As kids our walking destination was always the Variety Store in the Hollin Hall Shopping Center. A great store that has been there forever and where you can pick up just about anything. As kids, a little money bought us a handful of candy, as adults, we walk up to find that one item that no one else carries and you just have to have!

With the Safeway, Rite Aid Pharmacy, Hollin Hall Hardware Store and restaurants within walking distance you often can leave your car behind. If nature is your walking destination, the “creek”, as we always called it, borders the neighborhood and is an easy peaceful walk. The Potomac is also very close and can be walked from Mount Vernon to Olde Towne Alexandria and is spectacular. Visiting Mount Vernon itself is a fantastic way to spend a Saturday and you are back home in just minutes or take in a show at the National Theatre in DC and you are home in 15 minutes.

Sometimes though, you just want to stay home. This home will comfort you. It is an easy place to put your feet up and wash away the stresses of Washington DC living. Sitting on the deck in the springtime as the sun is going down and listening to the waterfall in the pond and the frogs talking to each other and you forget how close you are to the rest of the world...

Kevin and I hope you will consider our home. We have put a lot into it and it will serve someone well for a very long time. It is time for us to move on but we hope that you will think about putting your feet up here in Clark Place!
