Dear Prospective Home Buyer, My family has lived in the home on Steamboat Landing Lane for the past 17 years and it has become part of our family. We raised our two children to adulthood here and every room carries love and memories. Our girls are off to college now and we have chosen to move closer to family in New England but letting go of our home is bittersweet. We have had winter parties with 70 neighbors inside and movie nights outside on the back lawn with a projector and 25 popcorn-munching kids. We spent Christmas morning in the front living room and Easter dinner in the dining room and birthdays all over the house. There are a thousand cherished moments from first bike rides in the driveway to prom pictures in front of the hearth. The Burke Centre community is amazing. The kids and their friends grew up together, in and out of each other’s homes, at the pool in the summer and in the schools during the year. We could ride bikes as a family throughout the vast network of paths, and there were always opportunities to hang out during block parties for Labor Day and Memorial Day, among others. Every fall we look forward to the Burke Centre Fall Festival, held on the grounds of the Burke Centre Conservancy – there are crafts, food, entertainment, and rides for all ages. Outside of the neighborhood, there are countless opportunities for shopping, dining, or entertainment. Fantastic restaurants are available in local malls or just up the parkway at Fairfax Corner. Also, it is incredible to be a short drive from Washington DC and its many monuments and museums. We will miss our home and the memories of our life here, as well as our friends and neighbors. We are excited that another family will find a warm and comfortable home to make their memories. But we will certainly miss our Steamboat Landing home. Sincerely,
