BOARD MEETINGS

CONTACT INFORMATION

Regular board meetings, where the board conducts its business in public, are scheduled on the second Monday of each month unless it conflicts with a holiday and will be adjusted accordingly. They are held at the Richard A. Middleton Education Center (RAMEC) at 8961 Tesoro Drive. At all regularly scheduled meetings, the executive session begins at 5:30 p.m. and the public portion of the meeting convenes no earlier than 6:15 p.m.

Written communications can be mailed to: NEISD Board of Trustees 8961 Tesoro Drive, Suite 602 San Antonio, Texas 78217

Special board meetings are called as needed. Notice of all board meetings is posted three business days in advance on a bulletin board at the front entrance of the RAMEC and on our District website. Board meetings are live streamed on our District’s Youtube channel. The links can be found at neisd.net/board.

ADDRESSING THE BOARD Matters from the Floor is the time provided during board meetings for citizens to address the board on any issue or concern they may have. Topics may not include the character of any student, staff or board member. Those who wish to speak during the Matters from the Floor portion of the agenda may do so by signing up on the sign-up form located in the lobby of the RAMEC building across from the board room between 5:30-6:10 p.m. the day of the meeting. Each person who signs up to speak prior to the meeting can address the board one time for no more than three minutes. This time may be adjusted based on the number of people speaking. Following the citizen’s presentation, board members cannot respond to issues or concerns that were not listed on the agenda, but they may vote to put an issue on a future agenda or to have the administration follow up.

Email can be sent to board members at: board@neisd.net

MISSION STATEMENT We challenge and encourage each student to achieve and demonstrate academic excellence, technical skills, and responsible citizenship.

BOARD PRIORITIES The North East ISD Board of Trustees developed a Balanced District Scorecard to define key priorities related to students, staff, stakeholders, and stewardship. Public input was gathered through a survey and numerous focus group sessions. It has become the vision for education in NEISD. These are our four priorities. Students: We support students in a multitude of ways to nurture their learning. Staff: We value our employees and invest in their growth. Stakeholders: We collaborate with students, families and community members to support learning. Stewardship: We plan and manage funds and resources responsibly. For more information on the scorecard, visit: neisd.net/scorecard

If a person has signed up to address a specific item on the agenda, the board will call them forward when that agenda item is being discussed. Individuals are also welcome to address the board during special board meetings. However, public comment is limited to items on the meeting’s agenda. The sign-up form, also located in the lobby of the RAMEC building, will be available 45 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the meeting and remain posted for 40 minutes the day of the meeting. Special board meetings begin at 5:30 p.m.
