When Isabelle and Mike first saw Homefield they knew they had found a home to settle in. However, there were several issues with the home they needed help to overcome first.

Located in Knockholt, Kent, Homefield Coach House is a spacious family home of approximately 6, 000 sq ft on a plot of 15.7 acres, with fabulous far-reaching views over the surrounding countryside with Canary Wharf visible in the distance.

Isabelle recalls when she first showed her mother an image of the rear of the property.

Her mother asked which one of the houses her daughter was buying? This question hit right at the heart of the problem, it didn’t look like one family home. The wonderfulVictorian coach house had been extended in the 1990’s resulting in an awkward, disjointed building of conflicting proportions and natures.

Through a considered design process using modern computer modelling and more traditional physical models a unified design was developed that has resulted in the unique home seen in the following photographs.

AV Architects AV Architects was founded in 2010 by the husband and wife team of Neil Edwards and Estibaliz Buesa Diaz.

Neil and Esti met whilst working in the renowned RIBA Gold Medal winning practice of Scott Tallon Walker in Dublin, Ireland in 2001 and have worked together and collaborated with like minded designers and craftsmen ever since.
