Community & Home Assistance to Seniors

Did you know that June is Seniors Month? Community & Home Assistance to Seniors (CHATS) along with Mayor Mrakas and Councillor Gaertner, raised the CHATS Flag on June 2nd at the Aurora Town Park. The 2023 theme was “Working for Seniors". To find out more about CHATS please visit chats.on.ca

On May 30th, the "philthiest kitchen in Aurora" Philthy Philly's Aurora celebrated their 5 year anniversary! Neighbour Media joined Mayor Mrakas and the Aurora Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the milestone. Congratulations Philthy Philly's!

Town of East Gwillimbury Emergency and Community Safety Services (ECSS) hosted the annual Junior Firefighters Day at the Sports Complex in EG. The event included grade 3 students from around York Region, local dignitaries and representatives from all eight fire departments. The day was filled with activities including an obstacle course, escape room, cooking safety, lessons on learning how to call 911 and more. The highlight of the event is the water bucket challenge! This year Team King Township with Mayor Pellegrini, took home the win. Mayor Hackson was the anchor for East Gwillimbury, and Newmarket Councillor and York Region Fire Board Member Kelly Broome represented Central York. MPP Caroline Mulroney presented team King with the trophy!
