Newly opened Wayside Tavern has launched a charity foosball league sponsored by Red Thread Brewing, with proceeds going to local charities. The league will see competitors play weekly, with prizes and trophies for the winners. The $20 buy-in goes to charity, with food donations for the Newmarket Food Pantry also encouraged.

The Aurora Community Band and the Borealis Big Band, directed by Gord Shephard, will be performing a great variety of pop tunes and classics at their POPS CONCERT. Aurora cartoonist Scott Johnston, whose work is seen weekly in The Auroran, has just published his first book of single panel colour gag cartoons that poke fun at superheroes, science, wildlife, literature, sports, art, fairy tales, socks (yes, socks) and much more. He will be at Bookworms to chat about his experiences in cartooning and will be available to inscribe copies of his book.
