The changes affecting St Ives High School will be effective from Day 1 Term 1, 2024 - for new families enrolling only. Under the new enrolment policy, families with a child currently enrolled at their local designated high school retains the entitlement to enrol siblings at that school. For example, if you have a child currently enrolled in Year 8 but now live outside the designated catchment area, you may still enrol a sibling child. It does not apply when a student:

Has moved residential address outside of the intake area following their initial enrolment

Was initially enrolled as a non-local (out-of-area) student.

LAST year, the Department of Education released new boundaries for St Ives High School and several other neighbouring schools, effective as of Term 1, 2024. Various schools in the Hornsby and Ku-Ring-Gai LGAs have experienced significant student population growth in recent years, while others have not. Overtime, this has created an imbalance in the number of students across these groups of local high schools. Adjusting enrolment intake areas of three coeducational schools, Ku-Ring-Gai High School, St Ives High School and Turramurra High School will help restore that balance. The catchment for Asquith Boys and Asquith Girls is also changing.
