est Islip High School student and cancer survivor Kyle Dorr held a cancer awareness event in May, raising $1,150 in funds for the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola. Dorr, who will start his junior year in September, is a survivor of leukemia and still receives his care at the Cancer Center. The Dorr family seeks to raise awareness for childhood cancers and donations for the facility.
