Announces The Cast For A Christmas Carol The Musical Begins Performances On November 7, 2024 Opening Night Is November 9, 2024

The Argyle Theatre (Mark and Dylan Perlman, Executive Producers & Managing Partners; Evan Pappas, Artistic Director), Long Island’s largest year-round professional theatrical venue, will present A Christmas Carol The Musical, directed by Evan Pappas and Debbie Roshe, choreographed by Debbie Roshe, with musical direction by Jonathan Brenner. It will begin performances on November 7 and run through January 5, 2025. The opening night will be celebrated on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 7:30 PM.

Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated “Bah! Humbug!” Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving, but he’s forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present, and Future. Students Get A Hands-On Nature Lesson

Students from the classes of Mrs. Necroto, Ms. Gamble, Ms. Vedder, Mrs. Pesce, and Mrs. Marinelli visited the park’s Outdoor Learning Lab, where they learned about various coastal plants and animals.

Activities included studying mud snails and methods to coax them out of their shells, as well as participating in a beach scavenger hunt. Additionally, Mrs. Caputo and Mrs. Carmody used a seine net to catch coastal fish, mollusks, and crabs, which students could identify and touch under supervision.

The trip was both an entertaining and educational outdoor experience, allowing students to learn about this important ecosystem.

Veterans Day is Novemeber 11. Community-wide events tend to be held on that day, but any day of the year is a good time to pay respect to veterans. On a local level, people can do much to thank veterans for their service and sacriﬁce.

· Provide a free restaurant meal. Oﬀer to take out a veteran for breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you see a veteran eating in a restaurant, anonymously pay the bill for that person.

· Send care packages. Communities can gather resources and chip in to make care packages for veterans who live in town, and even to send to troops stationed elsewhere.

· Buy from veterans. Seek out veteran-owned businesses in the area, and then make purchases from their retail stores or utilize their services.

· Volunteer at a VA hospital. Spend time with veterans where they receive care for current health needs or past injuries suﬀered in combat.

· Participate in a parade. If your town hosts a Veterans Day parade, ﬁnd out how you can volunteer or be a part of it. Oftentimes parade oﬃcials enable youth groups, such as high school marching bands or scouting troops, to participate in the parade.

· Write to a publication. Write an op-ed or highlight piece to submit to a local newspaper about veterans in the community. Mention local veterans who have unique stories, or speak about the importance of veterans to the community.

· Ask a veteran to speak. If you work in a school or a community center, ask veterans to share their experiences with area youth.

· Visit local memorials. Spend time visiting memorials nearby and paying homage to the veterans who devoted their time, or even their lives, to service.

Friday Night Lights Win For West Babylon’s Homecoming

West Babylon School District kicked off a weekend full of homecoming festivities with a pep rally to close out the school day at West Babylon Senior High School on Oct. 18. Continuing the celebrations, members

lined up to march down Little East Neck Road to begin their parade to the West Babylon Junior High School football fields.

Across the district, students and staff from each of the school buildings marched together to show
