Brandon Berkowitz Achieves Eagle Scout Rank
Brandon Berkowitz, of Deer Park Boy Scout Troop 157, has received the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America. For his Eagle Scout Project, he built and installed a bench for the Bus Matrons, as they wait for their buses to pick them up at the Deer Park Transportation Department on Lake Avenue in Deer Park. He also planted flowers and an angel statue. From Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts, he has demonstrated values, dedication, commitment, discipline and loyalty, everything that scouting stands for. Earning such a significant achievement shows the great potential he has as a citizen in his community, in the nation, and in the world. Brandon has received 170 congratulatory certificates and letters from around the world. His Eagle Scout ceremony will be held in October. His parents, Lisa and Sheldon, and his family, and friends are so proud of him. Job well done Brandon!

FEAST stands for Food Education, Access, Support and Together. “We at Harmony Cafe believe that a healthy life consists of whole foods, whole people and whole communities,” said Rosemarie. “However, many people don’t have access to healthy fresh food, don’t have a strong support system and feel isolated from the community. Unhealthy diets is among some of the key contributors to the dramatic rise in obesity and dietary diseases affecting people in our country today. In order to address these issues, the FEAST Program serves parents or heads or households through our comprehensive 12-week Wellness Program. It is a very successful program!”
