Visual Citi Gives Back To The Community

Visual Citi recently presented two $1,000 Scholarships to two lucky graduating High School Seniors, one from Lindenhurst and one from West Babylon High School. The scholarships were given to students who are pursuing a higher education through a 2- or 4-year college program or technical school.

The happy recipients were Thiago Vasquez, a 2024 Lindenhurst High School graduate who is heading off to SUNY Binghamton in the fall and Kenneth “Kai” Miller, a 2024 graduate of West Babylon High School who will be attending Cornell University this Autumn.

Visual Citi Vice President Arif Devji, who presented the scholarship to Kai Miller and Vice President of Operations for Visual Citi Azim Bootwala, who presented Thiago Vaszquez with the scholarship and a Visual Citi baseball cap, both said that they are proud to be able to give back to the company’s home communities by recognizing these outstanding graduating students with these scholarships.

EXOTIC WAREHOUSE

Member Of West Babylon Fire Department Recognized As Suffolk County Healthcare Hero

The Suffolk County Legislature recognized (18) Healthcare Heroes honorees, for their exceptional service and contributions they have made to our communities.

Legislator Steven J. Flotteron recognized West Babylon Fire Department member Jalen Jones for the 11th Legislative District.

Jones joined the Department in September 2020 and obtained his Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

certification in June of 2021. He was recognized by the West Babylon Fire Department as the top responder for most rescue calls in 2023. This June, he was awarded the Law and Order award from the Sgt. John Sardiello American Legion Post in West Babylon. This award honors the unsung heroes in the West Babylon community who give selflessly of themselves and go above and beyond the call of duty to protect our community and nation.

He is studying to become a Paramedic, the highest level as an EMT, and took his certification exam in July. He currently works for Northwell as an EMT. His journey into emergency medical services was inspired by his own personal experiences in dealing with family health issues. He is passionate about training and spends countless hours helping new members learn the most compassionate way to deal with patients in crisis.

Nothing But Smiles

The start of the school year was filled with smiling faces as students and staff in the North Babylon School District were welcomed back on Sept. 3.

Students at North Babylon High School and Robert Moses Middle School were greeted by staff members and

administrators at the building entrances.

With their backpacks filled to the brim, elementary students were also welcomed back to their building and had time to settle in, get acquainted with their new classrooms and reconnect with friends. Thanks to the new school

start times implemented this year, elementary students arrived at their respective schools at the same time. Universal prekindergarten students had a special orientation day to allow ample time to become familiarized with their new classrooms and routines.

September is National Suicide Prevention Month

AFSP-LI Is Leading The Fight For Suicide Awareness And Prevention Here On Long Island

September is National Suicide Prevention Month, a moment that serves as a powerful reminder that there are steps we all must take in looking out for loved ones, the people in our community, and those who have been impacted by this leading cause of death. Suicide continues to be an urgent public health matter with nearly 50,000 people dying by suicide and 1.6 million people attempting suicide in the United States in 2022 (the most current data available).

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a leader in this work, invites the public to join our growing movement and take action to save lives during this

awareness month and beyond. It’s time to take one big step together. Since 2002, millions of people have attended the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s OUT OF THE DARKNESS COMMUNITY WALKS in communities across the country, raising awareness and funds that go toward education programs, advocacy efforts, and scientific research that reveals how we can save more lives.

By walking with others, we find comfort in knowing we are not alone, and that we are connected through great purpose to healing and support. So join us – as parents, neighbors, family members, classmates and colleagues – at our

“It was a fantastic day at the RiseWell Nine & Dine Golf Outing!” said Dr. Maksoud. “We at Community Care Rx are proud to partner with the team at RiseWell, who work day in and day out to make a difference within the community. Their tireless efforts truly shine through, and their commitment and passion are inspiring.”

The Nine & Dine Golf Outing would not have been possible without the generous support of its sponsors, including Community Care Rx, Alcott HR, Level Line General Contracting, Trooper Foods, Advantage Painting, Maple Mechanical, Dulligan’s Do It All Landscaping, Lincoln IT, The Richman Group, Park Strategies, Ham-R-Time Contracting Inc., Cleanco Consultants, Independent Pest Elimination Inc.,

Valley Bank, Mega Contracting Group, Baltic Street Wellness Solutions, All 4’s Transportation, Top Quality Pest Control, Urban Architectural Initiatives (UAI), Barclay Damon LLP, Baker Tilly and Hanover Bank.

“We are grateful to our esteemed honoree, Dr. Maksoud, our generous sponsors, and our many loyal supporters for helping to make this year’s Nine & Dine a success,” said Philip Matcovsky, President and CEO of RiseWell. “Our golf outing continues to grow each year and provides us with a valuable opportunity to spend time with those who share our dedication to empowering individuals and families, and building a stronger, healthier community.”
