SHARING A LOVE OF POETRY - Fifth graders at Santapogue Elementary School in the West Babylon School District showed off their love of literacy during a Chalk Walk prior to the close of the school year. The students chose a poem – working together with librarian Ms. McHugh – and then shared that poem in chalk outside on the school’s walkway. Responsibilities:
Making, repairing, and maintaining tools, dies, and fixtures for our pressroom.
Setup and operate machines such as lathes, mills, drill presses and grinders.
Be capable of using all necessary hand tools needed as well as maintaining an organized, clean, safe work area.
Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify tools and dies. Assisting Pressroom supervisor with any necessary troubleshooting, tooling, maintenance, etc.
Troubleshooting production and quality problems related to tooling. Updating and maintaining tooling files. Evaluating and improving tool performance.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Tool and Die Maker. Interpret blueprints to determine materials, specifications, and tolerance for tools.
Ability to set-up and operate conventional tool room equipment. Knowledge of Stamping and Progressive/Compound Dies.
CAD/CAM experience (AutoCad/MasterCam) a Plus.
Experience using VMC’s and or Wire EDM a Plus.
