High School’s Diligent Dozen Goodwill, leadership and personal integrity top the list for the 12 Rocky Point High School students who participated in a fall cleanup at Camp Pa-QuaTuck, a summer camp and year-round respite care center for people with disabilities that is supported by many Rotary Clubs on Long Island.

The students – members of the school’s Interact Club – helped prepare the

grounds and buildings at the Center Moriches campground for the upcoming season by raking leaves and cleaning cabins. They will return in the spring to prepare the camp for the summer season.

The school district commends students Nicole Bergamini, Emily Bono, Liana Brennan, Megan Buchler, Alexandra Carley, Madeline Carney

Schmidt, Andrea Castillo, Karina Cooper, Annesch Deshpande, Brenna Kiernan, Jackson Normadin and Gianna Uliano, who along with club adviser and special education teacher Margaret Messinetti, continue to make Rocky Point proud by demonstrating responsibility, hard work and respect for others.

HANUKKAH MENORAH LIGHTING - Temple Beth Emeth of Mt Sinai will be having our community menorah lighting at our temple 52 Mt Sinai Avenue, Mt Sinai, NY on Sunday December 22 at noon. The Port Jefferson School District wrestling team turned in a spectacular performance at the Louis D. Giani Sr. Invitational Tournament at Huntington High School on Nov. 30.

On October 29, 70 residents attended the Town of Brookhaven Youth Board’s first “Brookhaven’s Got Talent Student Art Show.” Students enrolled in seventh through twelfth grade were asked to submit summer-themed photos, paintings and/or drawings through Brookhaven Town’s website, and entries were accepted from late June through September 27. In total, 19 submissions were received from 15 students. The event took place in the second-floor lobby at Brookhaven Town Hall, where prints of the students’ art work are currently displayed for residents to view.

Supervisor Ed Romaine said, “The goal behind this initiative was to recognize and encourage young, talented artists in Brookhaven Town.
