located in Holbrook and they have no plans of going anywhere. The pandemic took its toll on CFK, as it did on many, but they stayed afloat and are thankful for the opportunity to continue to make a difference.

Since 2005, CFK has given out more than 3 MILLION DOLLARS to help local Long Islanders. Here are some of the areas they’ve helped others financially: Rent, Mortgage Payments, Oil Deliveries, Utility Bills, Food, Transportation To & From Hospitals, Co-Payments, Medications & Funeral Expenses.

Donations are so important to CFK, especially being that they receive no grant money. They would like to thank all thsoe who attended their Scavenger Hunt fundraising event on April 10th. Their next fundraising event will be a golf outing on June 14th, stay tuned for more information! Contractors For Kids (CFK) is a non-profit organization, which was founded for the purpose of providing assistance to families in Long Island communities. Their goal is to assist children and their families overcome obstacles that have unfortunately changed or have impacted their lives through the sickness, injury or death of a child. They are committed to this cause and want to give hope and reassurance for the futures of Long Islanders.

CFK was founded in 2005 by Kevin Harney and Alan Nahmias of Stalco Construction. Kevin and Alan, both long-time philanthropists, saw the growing need for financial assistance in our communities and knew that something more needed to be done.

Through random acts of kindness, they were slowly changing the lives of others, however they thirsted to make more change so they decided to form this non-profit, Contractors For Kids.

The Board of Directors, members, supporters and volunteers of CFK are all “Contractors For Kids.”

They are all helping others and building futures for children and their families in need. Their organization runs on donations only and is volunteer based, they have no employees. One family at a time, they make sure that the financial hardship brought on by sickness, injury or death does not destroy an already hurting family. Whether it is to pay a phone bill or a mortgage payment, they want to be there to help.

So how do you qualify to get help? It’s quite simple. If you can prove that you are struggling financially because of the sickness, injury or death of a child, you live on Long Island (in Nassau or Suffolk County), and you have filled out their Application For Assistance, they will get in touch with you to see how they can be of help!

Contractors For Kids is local to the core. They know our Island well and they love to help locals. Their office is

giving. Virtual attendees will be entered to win door prizes throughout the day.

The Women’s EXPO is presented by the Middle Country Library Foundation.

Proceeds will help to support the library’s Miller Business Center, which supports regional economic development by meeting the information needs of the business community, promoting a literate and job-ready workforce, and

The seniors entered the academic competition as juniors along with more than 1.5 million students by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as an initial screen of entrants.

After each submitted a detailed scholarship application, the students advanced to the finals, demonstrated an outstanding academic record and leadership abilities, wrote an essay, and were endorsed by a high school official. In March and continuing to

mid-June, NMSC notifies approximately 7,600 finalists that they have been selected to receive a Merit Scholarship, corporate or college-sponsored monetary award.

Helping Residents of St. Joseph’s Village Get Vaccinated

Legislator Nick Caracappa helped residents of a senior housing community in his district get their first COVID vaccine.

St. Joseph’s Village in Selden, which houses approximately 230 residents, is managed

by Catholic Charities of Long Island. Legislator Caracappa coordinated with Bell Mead Pharmacy

in East Setauket to have pharmacists on-site over a two-day period to administer 50+ Moderna vaccines.

Capture Your Tremendous Talent in Tiny Artwork The Reboli Center for Art and History is inviting entries from now until April 21 for a unique fundraising exhibition, Miniatures to Make a Maximum Impact!

All participating artists will have their artwork exhibited in the Reboli Design Shop throughout the month of May. “Miniature art has been venerated throughout history, and today there are Miniature Art Societies around the world. The delicate beauty and refinement of these works can be truly amazing. Now we’re asking contemporary artists of all styles to “paint

small” to help support our center and programs in a major way,” said Lois Reboli, a founder of the Reboli Center and the wife of the late artist Joseph Reboli.

“One free canvas will be given to each participant to create for our cause. All entries will be considered as a donation to the Reboli Center, a 501 (c) (3) organization, and all proceeds raised from the sale of each submitted artwork for this event will be used for our free programming and exhibitions,” added Reboli.

Contributing artists may

also use their own stretched canvas, linen or panel, which must not exceed 36 square inches (6 inches x 6 inches). Any painting medium is acceptable, and framing is optional. Artists are welcome to submit up to five entries. The artwork must be your own original concept and not a copy of anyone else’s copyrighted material.
